Question about 2002 Saturn VUE
My 05 VUE with 42k mi....driving to work all of a sudden the car wont accelerate past 60mph, the engine light comes on...so i pull over, turn the car off, and restart...the car restartes but when i tried to accelerate-nothing. I ended up being towed. towed it to AAA car care center where after a whole wasted afternoon they say that there is nothing wrong with the car, but they did pull up a code for a minor stall and 2 others which they had no idea what it was and suggested taking it to the saturn dealership. The next morning the same thing happened so this time it was taken to the dealership...a weekend later the dealership comes back to say that there is nothing wrong....their computer pulled no codes, and the "unknown" codes that AAA pulled dont exist! Has anyone experienced something similar, or have any idea what the problem is....because obviously there is one!!!
Iit seems that the computer got "confused". A way is to remove the negative battery cable for about a minute then reconnect. This will try to reprogram the computer. If it is still not good, try checking the CPS crankshaft position sensor and the IPS idle position sensor.
