Question about 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Fuse for 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Gages (Gas, TAC, Speed etc..)

MY 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Gages (Gas, TAC, Speed etc..) went out. I thought it was a fuse but I could not find it. Maybe it a Relay or short? The floor area around the fuse box was a little wet after a heavy rain. I also sometimes here a buzz from the Passenger fuse area.
Also the blower fan now runs when the car is off!

    Well I left the Jeep stand for a day and all is working for now! These kinda problems are always fun! I thought I was missing a fuse or relay. I still think i may have a relay issue because of the buzz I some times here but it dos not last long enough to find it. Next time I will go to jeep parts May be they can tell me or I will just replace all in the fuse box area. Thanks for your responce!

Well it seems that a leak has shorted out some of the circuits. This may be able to be resolved if nothing has suffered permanent damage, but that will have to be diagnosed by a professional with access to the Jeep. For now, disconnect the battery keep the Jeep in a dry place so the moisture can dissipate.  Use a hair drier or fan to help speed up the drying process.  While this is going on, you will have to search for the source of the leak and get it fixed, the most common area for leaks is around the windshield.  If no permanent damage has been caused, and the moisture is all dried up then you may be ok.

    Glad to hear its working again but remember to get that leak fixed right away or you could have the same problem again or worse.  The noise you hear from the fuse block could be moisture that is causing an electrical arch, which could lead more problems or a fire.  Work on getting the moisture out further.

Changed radio instramentpanel gages lights went dead

You probably touched a wire wrong and blew the fuse for nighttime illumination, same fuse that lights up the dash. Also, you might've hooked up the vehicle illumination wire wrong in the back of the new radio, causing a short and the fuse blew

Is it the ecm fuse. Check the o2 sensor wires. On this model sometimes they rub on the rear driveshaft and blow fuses.

Dash lights or gages on jeep grand cherokee wont work

the wires could be chewed off by mice or there could be a bad connection, also try checking the fuse to see if it is blown and if it keeps blowing then put a higher amp fuse in it.

Where is the fuse for the tail lights for jeep '96 grand cherokee

Unfortunately, could not find owners manual for 1996.

Website only has models 2004-current
=> http://www.jeep.com/en/owners/manuals/index.html

There are two fuse boxes. One under driver compartment usually left to the steering colum. A label is stamp to identify each fuse. I would look at Park Lights and Instrument Cluster fuses. The easy way is to take a flashlight and look at all fuses. If they are all okay. Then just remove the Park Lights and Instrument Cluster fuse and reseat them. The other fuse box is under the hood and near the batter. It also has a label to identify each fuse.
