Question about 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee
MY 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Gages (Gas, TAC, Speed etc..) went out. I thought it was a fuse but I could not find it. Maybe it a Relay or short? The floor area around the fuse box was a little wet after a heavy rain. I also sometimes here a buzz from the Passenger fuse area.
Also the blower fan now runs when the car is off!
Well it seems that a leak has shorted out some of the circuits. This may be able to be resolved if nothing has suffered permanent damage, but that will have to be diagnosed by a professional with access to the Jeep. For now, disconnect the battery keep the Jeep in a dry place so the moisture can dissipate. Use a hair drier or fan to help speed up the drying process. While this is going on, you will have to search for the source of the leak and get it fixed, the most common area for leaks is around the windshield. If no permanent damage has been caused, and the moisture is all dried up then you may be ok.
