I have a 2004 gmc yukon when I try to start it it just cant kick over, the battery is fine it just cant get the final kick to start

- I guess so.......I turn the key the enigine turns over but its like it cant get enough power to start it just whines

- would this happen graduly or happen suddenly I have never had a problem before but with the shortage we had here recently I did run under 1/4 tank frequently

there is a point where it works and when it quits, I guess that is suddenly.

U will need to have the fuel pump tested, if u are stuck have it towed or get someone who has the skills to check the fuel pressure, the pump is located in the fuel tank, they are prone to fail around 100,000 miles or if u run the tank below 1/4 on a regular basis, that overheats the pump, it is cooled by the gas it sits in.

Not enough info, sorry don't know hat you mean by the way u describe the condition, the starter either turns the engine or it doesn't.

Check the "knock sensors" under the intake manifold, notorious for water damage. Need to check the fuel pressure as well. Fuel pump could be bad. Has the "Service Engine Soon" been on at all? It's all a "**** shoot" without the proper testing equipment.
