Question about 1995 Toyota 4Runner

Rear Window shattered twice

Our 95 Toyota 4runner has now shattered it's rear window twice. Both times it was parked and no one around. The first time we wondered whether our children were involved but when we replaced it (personally) and it happened again we knew it must be a problem with the car. Do you think it could be the motor? Have you heard of this before? The first time the window was rolled up and the second time it was still rolled down inside the door. HELP, this is a waste of time and money!

I would replace the regulator, and the side tracks. It probably has a clearance issue that is allowing the window to be stressed, due to said clearance. What I am saying is the glass is being held, by the regulator, incorrectly, and a lateral stress is being placed onto the glass flat surface; like bending a twig in your hands. If there is side or lateral pressure on one side of the glass, the result is going to be breakage. Let me know if you need more info.

Personally, if the glass has shattered twice, i would go to a hardware store and get a piece of plexiglass to replace it with. get a sheet bigger than the factory glass and then cut it to the right size and shape. you don't need any fancy tools, just a jigsaw and some sand paper to smoothe the edges.

Pros: Cons:
alot harder to break than glass low quality plexiglass can yellow in the sun.
about 20X stronger weather stripping can cause streaks or scratches

The module is built into the motor, replace the motor. If it does the full sweep. Turn off the ignition switch at the time it is supposed to be in the park position.

Which fuse is for the rear window wiper and rear window defogger on 2003 Toyota 4Runner (V6)?

You Have one fuse for the wipers in the car. Left side of steering wheel and the back cover should list the fuses and location. The other box is located in the engine compartment above the battery. They should list the fuse locations under the compartment covering the fuses. Hope that helps

2004 4runner rear wipe blade and fluid just stopped working, is there an easy fix for this or should i take to dealer

If your rear wiper, fluid wash, and rear defrost stopped working at the same time try this first before taking it to the dealer. Start the 4Runner and lower the rear window glass. Wait a few seconds and raise the rear window. Turn the engine off and wait a few seconds. Restart the engine and see if this helps. I had the same problem after I had my drive belt replaced and the shop disconnected the battery cable. When the battery cable is disconnected it causes the rear wiper, fluid wash and defrost to stop working. Good luck!

2004 4Runner Rear Wiper and Defroster won't work

I just had the same problem. I have an '04 4Runner and my rear wiper, fluid wash, and defrost stopped working after it was recently serviced. If you had the battery cables disconnected recently here is the solution...Start the engine and lower the rear tailgate window all the way... close the rear window and then turn the engine off. Restart the engine and the wiper, wash, and defrost. should work again. It has something to do with the computer which needs to be rebooted. Good luck.

My 2004 toyota 4-runner rear window heater and wipers stopped working

If they stopped at the same time,...Probably a bad fuse. If not, follow wires. Wire harness may have come unattached.
If at different times, Your warrentee probably just ended.

Toyota 4runner gate window, wiper, and keyless entry not working

make sure the back window is all the way up then try the wiper, if it still does not work then it is a sensor for the rear window (about $30.00) if you installed it yourself

Passenger side rear compartment window - antenna in glass?

Depends, could be defroster could be antenna for radio, could be both. IF you don't see an antenna on your hood on passenger side then its most likely the antenna.
