No it's my headlights while I'm driving with the running lamps on. They'll brighten then return to normal then they'll brighten then return to normal every so often. Even oncoming drivers flash me when this occurs.

I'm sorry that you were insulted but I hit the inappropriate button to what I thought was the question "are your dash lights flickering?" which they are not. As this is my first time on this site I ask that you would please bare with me. I sincerely appreciate any help I can get.

Incidentally, I spoke with my delership and was informed of a wiring recall for the same type problem on '04 Trailblazers. Are you aware of a faulty wiring recall on '04 Trailblazers?

I Have the same problem only with a 97 S-10 Blazer. I just changed the alternator w / new one . Thought it might be voltage regulator. Not!! still doing it. Any other suggestions would be helpful. It has been fine for the past 10 years now all of a sudden this. Thanks.

Check with a GM dealer to see if there is repair bulletin on the voltage regulator in the alternator.

I do this fixya thing for free on my spare time as well as many other people we are not fixya employees so when we answer your question and you rate it inappropriate that is an insult. I pointed you in the right direction but you must be looking for someone to do the whole thing for you. Going by how fast you rated my solution you did not even check what i told you. That answer is actually a common problem for GMs and some models have a bulletin for the voltage regulator. This vehicle has a GM service bulleton # 05-08-42-001 DIAGNOSTIC INFORMATION ON HEADLAMPS FLICKER OR MOMENTARILY DIM WHILE DRIVING-MAR 7, 2005. This is from there bulleton that I retrieved for you.

KEEP IN MIND HIGH CURRENT DRAW ITEMS MAY CAUSE A NOTICEABLE DIMMING OF LIGHTS AND A FLUCTUATION IN THE VOLTMETER MAY BE NOTED AND IS A NORMAL OPERATING CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE.

FOR 2004-2005 TRAILBLAZER WITH LL8 4.2L ENGINE ONLY, THE SECONDARY AIR INJECTION PUMP ACTIVATION IS THOUGHT TO BE THE MAIN CONTRIBUTER TO THIS HIGH CURRENT DRAW CONDITION AND IS NORMAL OPERATING CHARACTERISTICS OF THE VEHICLE.

FOR CUSTOMERS WHOSE DRIVING HABITS TEND TO RUN THE AIR PUMP DIAGNOSTIC TEST THAT LEADS TO CONCERNS WITH THE HEADLIGHT FLICKERING, IF THE VEHICLE IS ALLOWED TO IDLE FOR 20 SECONDS PRIOR TO DRIVING, THIS SHOULD ALLOW THE PASSIVE TEST TO PASS AND PREVENT FROM RUNNING THE ACTIVE TEST THAT MAY DIM THE LIGHTS. THE PASSIVE TEST SHOULD/WILL USUALLY PASS 99 PERCENT OF THE TIME, AND BY ALLOWING THE 20 SECOND IDLE PERIOD, IT SHOULD ALMOST ELIMINATE THE ACTIVE TEST.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO INSPECT ALL RELATED CONNECTIONS, GROUNDS AND BATTERY TERMINALS FOR INTEGRITY. A LOOSE OR CORRODED CONNECTION MAY EXAGGERATE THE CONCERN, AND MAY CAUSE OTHER SYMPTONS.

All the bold writing is from the tech bulleton that i told you to aquire but instead i did it to prove myself so instead of you doing your own research while I was helping someone who appreciates it I was helping you. Maybe this will earn a thanks for helping or nice try.

I am aware of the recall but it is for the turn signals and the brake lights I do not see anything on the headlights.

I have a 1995 Ford Explorer Limited and the high beams work but the low beams and fog lights do not, please help....

These trucks are known for bad multifuction switches.
the switch that i talk of is the signal switch , the handle is the switch, it bolts to side of steering column . this switch controls the signals and the headlights and high /low beams. the other thing is the headlight switch connector, the connector some times goes bad and starts to melt or just comes out of the connector. you will need to remove the cover to steering column, the screws are located under the bottom cover in holes. remove cover and check connector and then test for power if you have power going into switch but not coming out then switch is bad.

the last thing is to make sure the bulbs are good , make sure the headlight bulbs are good , and also the driving light bulbs, test for power at the connectors to those lights to.
You will need to do a little testing to find the problem.

My instrument panel, parking lights, and taillights flicker simultaneously. they are all ran off the 'park lamp relay' on my 2002 dodge dakota. my headlights are fine. the conflict is intermittent and...

relay coil may be a bit weak and is sharing power with the headlight relay. Try swapping the relay with the horn relay or another similar one that is non-essential to operation of the car. If that doesn't work, you may have a loose wire on the headlight switch or at the relay socket.

2004 grand am headlights come on while sitting in

The only thing that I can see and should make sense is the body control module controls the ground side of the headlight relay.

Maybe the control module is defective or the wire to the relay ground side.... grounds itself somehow which would also cause the flickering.

Headlights flickering

This could be caused by a lot of different things,,but usually it is the fault of the Headlight Relay.
Try replacing the relay before going further.

DRL and High Beam do not work right on Honda Accord EX 1998

Some time back I found some data on a similar website suggesting that the Day Light Running circuit board, just under the steering column, developed cracks in some of the soldered joints. Your high beams should also be affected with loss of day light running lights.
Resoldering repaired the continuity of the circuits. Ours is now working quite reliably. Some of the defective areas developed slight brownish discoloration, that's how I was told to recognise the areas to be resoldered. Hope this will help you solve your problem.
