My power window will work fine sometimes, other times when I try to put it down or up it just stops... I wait a few seconds and sometimes it goes up and sometimes it creeps a few millimeters and stops again...whats up with it???

I have a 98 328is and the driver side window is only working part of the time. It is like there is no power and then the next time you try it it works. The window motor sounds fine when it runs and there is no odd noises from the door. Where would the most likely problem be?
Maybe your motor just need the connections taken off and sprayed down with wd/40 to help the connection. Is this happening on the driver side? if so try useing the passenger side button and see if it opperates same way, it;s a different window motor> good luck to you.
I am guessing you have power windows. Happens to mine sometimes. Slam the door a couple to few times, see if that doesn't put the window back on "track". I mentioned this to the dealership a while back and they were going to charge about $90 to pop off the interior part of the door and put it back on track. They said it "builds up dirt". I actually also toggle the window switch a few times to see if it will move slightly and then do my door slam thing a couple to few times. I seem to get this problem when it rains. I hope it helps.
Try spraying silicone spray down the sides (felt) where window slides (guides) up & down. Put window all the way down, spray them well, top to bottom, then run window up & down a few times. May not cure it, but should help. Be generous with it, but a little clean up later may be needed.
Sounds like it could be your switch going out. Does the rear switch give you the same problem? If not, then I would suggest you go to a junk yard and find one to replace the front one, even then they range in price from $35-60. A new one from the dealer is best but more costly. Good luck hope it helps.
I had the same problem. It was a bent rod on the regulator, which burned out the motor. Easiest way is to switch out the whole assembly, the motor and the regulator. Mine is working just fine now. I am a female and was able to switch it out just fine i just had to have someone else hold the window in the right positions to get to the bolts on the window.
