Question about 2002 Volkswagen Jetta TDI

Rear lights The rear lights in my 2002 jetta aren't coming on when I'm driving. The blinkers work and brake as long when i reverse however they don't stay on in drive. Any ideas why?

    Sounds like your fuse has gone. Did you have any work done recently such as a new sterio put in ?

Bulb is bad has 2 burners in each bulb one for tail lights and one for brake one of them has burned out from probly a elitric searge replace bulbe and you should be fine

You have a faulty earth connection on one of the rear lights ,or both ? try running a seperate ground or earth wire to each real light and iam sure this will cure the problem

CHECK TAIL LIGHT BULBS.IF BULBS CHECK OUT GOOD PROBLEM COULD BE CORRODED BULB SOCKETS OR BROKEN LOOSE WIRE IN CIRCUIT.

If the blinker and reverse lights work on the bad side maybe a new socket.

yes it sounds like the turn signal switch is defective, the brake lights go through that switch as well.

Right rear blinker doesn't work. Brakes light comes at wrong time


You have a wire shorting out somewhere. Inspect from tail light forward. A test light will probably help you.
