Acts like it isn't getting fuel, chokes out

Do you have an engine light? Throwing a code?
Just does this at idle or when driving/acceleration?
Acting strange changing symptoms (E.G.--idle to acceleration to black smoke out exhaust, etc.)? Plenty of Gas in tank?

I am thinking: No engine light
Clog in fuel filter
intermittent fuel pump problem
A vehicle starting sensor (E.G.--Throttle Position Sensor (TPS))
Main computer
Engine Light: Pull Code

I hope this helps.

98 chev silverado.........stops running when the air temp is 90* or above....acts like it runs out of gas....set for 15 min and it runs fine............have replaced fuel pump and numerous

Is the check engine light on ? Have you tried running it with the gas cap off ? The vent for the tank could be faulty. If you run it with the gas cap off, the check engine light may come on.

Engine quit when stopped at stop light. Acted as if it was choking then died. Tried restarting. Turns over strong, no start. Thought maybe no gas. Added gas after about 30 minutes. Started first try....

Sounds like the fuel pump is going out. Replace the filter first, as it's only $10. If that doesn't fix it, then it's probably the pump, which is $250.

Run good till the check engine light go off

Check the fuel lines under the car. Don't actually start the car though, just turn the key until you hear the fuel pump turn on. This will load the fuel system and you will be able to see leaks (or sprays) under the car because of the pressure. If there are no leaks, see if the car runs perfect with a full tank of gas compared to a low tank. It should drive good turning left, but it might **** turning right or after a sudden stop. This could mean you have a crack in the seams of your gas tank or that your fuel pump is going bad (or a little of both).

My 97 nissan altima is occasionally stalling out when I come to a stop. When this does happen it acts as if the engine is starving for fuel as I start it and for 10 or 15 minutes afterwards - it studders...

This happened to my 1997 Altima GXE a couple years ago. The coolant sensor is bad ($30-40 part). The coolant sensor is reading that the temp is cool on a warmed up engine and actually causes the engine to run rich (thinking it is a cold engine). The problem is intermittant and happened at the worse times.

Car shuts off while driving.

You might want to try a new fuel filter, if its been a while sense its had a new one, when they start to plug it will act like that. You may also want to chk. the fuel pressure to see if the pump is getting weak, pumps going bad are a common problem on G.M. cars and trucks. but don't loose sight that it could be electrical, with todays cars anything is possible, but sense the light did not come on leads me to believe its the fuel thing.

My check engine light is on

If you now have a check engine light on stop at your local auto zone for a free diagnostics check.
They can give you the specific code and a easy explination of what is causing your problem

Sounds like you might have bad spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, mabye even a fuel issue.
Try doing a full rutine matinence.
Plugs, Wires, Distributor Cap and Rotor, and see if that helps.

Clean the throttle body with c.r.c. get it at autozone ect.The t.p.s. (throttle position sensor) could be acting up.The t.p.s. controls how much air/fuel enters the throttle body and if your problem only happens in the summer this may be your problem.
