I just had a cv boot replaced in my 2003 vw jetta a week ago. Now there is a creaking noise that wasn't there before the repair coming from the front end. Are these two things related? Should I be concerned?

Re: creaking noise coming from front end.
YES! if you pay any one for any repair and it does something it didnt do before definitely have them check it out...........they may have missed something or forgot to tighten a bolt or damaged another component in the process. it sounds like a strut bearing or an improperly re-installed ball joint.
Hope this helps.........Good Luck!

Check and see if the Brake Pads were re-installed with all the hardware, ie, Anti-Rattle Clips, shims etc. if your pads are not secure in the Calipers it will cause the pads to rattle when you are driving in effect causing your brakes to make weird noises, ie, groaning, squealing, rattling.
Sounds like it is your CV axles. Turn the wheel one direction, right or left, and check just behind the wheels to see if your CV boot is cracked or ripped (the boot is a black, rubber accordion looking thing). If it is cracked or ripped, I would say that is definitely the problem.
