Yes, would love the answer to this also. My childs childs car seat wont sit flush with seat because of the headrest. Even the service guy couldn't get it to remove. Find it ridiculous that it is unable to do this. I've always been able to remove headrests from all my cars. Didn't think to ask this question in the showroom as it hasn't been an issue before..

On the opposite pole base you will find there is a small hole on outside. Insert a bobby pin and press the release button at same time, it will let you remove.

SOURCE: Removal of headrest on 2005 Ford F150.

The headrest has on obvious button to adjust the height and another button kinda hidden to remove the headrest. The black plastic ring at the base where the metal poles insert into the seat is where the two buttons. You probably noticed the obvious on that sticks out of the side of one of the rings. The other plastic ring contains a similar button that is not noticeable due to it being flush with the side of the plastic ring. Adjust the headrest to its highest position, then locate the "hidden" button on the other plastic ring and depress it while lifting on the headrest and it should come out.

SOURCE: Headrest removal

When you pull it up all the way, you should see a very small hole at the base of the rod. Poke a small nail in there and that will release the catch.

There should be a button on the base of the headrest to raise & lower it. Push the button, and lower it. With the button pushed, raise the headrest, and pull hard. They ARE tight.

How can do i open 2011 holden captiva rear drivers passenger door if the outside handle is broken off and the child lock is on?

You might be able to grab the rod with some needle nose through the hole where the handle is supposed to go. Or you might be able to use a slim-jim if you know where the rod is located inside of the door.

Remove third row headrest

Pull the headrest up toward the ceiling as far as you are able. There is a small plastic button on the side of one of the metal mounting rods (that go down into the seat). Depress and hold the button and pull up again. The headrest will come right out.

Your child seats should have a long strap that goes through the headrest and then reach around the back of the seat to clip into a slot on the bottom rear of the seat.

How can I remove the headrest

I've removed the headrest on my mustang before. Some seats have a zipper or a way to snap the seat cover at the bottom rear. If you open it you can put your arm up the back of the seat. With the headresat down you can feel the locking piece that retracts when you lift the headrest. If you take a long shaft flat blade screwdriver and place it in between and lift up the headrest it will slide out. Yes, getting the screwdriver in place can be tricky but, it was the only way to remove the headrest without having the correct tool. I hope this can work on your vehicle as well.
