Question about 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan
Where is it and can an amateur replace it?
The wiper motor is located under the plastic at the base of your wind shield. Before anyone that has limited experience with repairing vehicles does anything like this I recomend that they visit their local auto parts supplier and obtain a manual for their particular make and model vehicle i recommend the haynes line of manuals they have step by step instructions, diagrams and pictures and are based on a complete tear down of the vehicle they describe...If its on your car this book will tell you how to repair it.If you are remotely mechanically inclined you can change your windshield wiper motor (manual a must though.................http://www.haynes.com/) I in no way work for or am related to haynes i just love their manuals and have used them for many years.
Hope this helps...Good luck!

It is located underneath the cowl, in the engine compartment. There are a few screws holding the plastic cowl on, that part comes off, and you will see the wiper motor. I would say that an ammetur could do this repair, but you have to time the new wiper motor to the park position of the wiper linkage, which sometimes is a pain. Also you need to remove the wiper arms, which can be pretty stuck at times.
