My 2004 Jeep Wrangler Stutters When Accelerating Slowly

When I accelerate from a stop, my jeep will stutter a little then when I take my foot off the gas and press again it's fine. I also notice I'm going through more gas than usual. Please help!

Your electronic control module is about to go. I had the same problem, and thought that I needed new spark plugs. No help. Then I replaced the coil. Yes, the solid 3 foot long that fits directly on the spark plugs. Then I went to the Dealer, who tested the ECM. It was faulty.  There are aftermarket ones that you can buy on the internet. I was at the Dealer, and just went ahead and paid through my arse for that replacement. But, my Rubicon is now up and running. Oh well.

This seems to be the same problem with the cherokee and the 2003 300m,i think the injectors are very sensitive to huge amounts of fuel coming to the merge point at once and as a safety feature will not let anything over a factory set over amount pass through,just my opinion!

Car stutters/ hesitates

Well I am not a mechanic, but I am fairly handy with a wrench. My initial suspect would be some sort of transmission issue whether it be mechanical or sensor related.Is it more noticeable when accelerating slowly vs. a quick acceleration? That could mean a torque converter. When is the last time that you had the transmission fluid changed? A good shop should be able to rule out many issues by looking at the fluid that comes out (looking for metal shavings and the like). Taking your car to a transmission specialist may be your next viable option. Hope this helps

I have a 88 jeep wrangler w/a 4in. lift when accelerating the jeep will pull to one side or the other pretty bad any ideas

Yes. Don't lift it in the first place. Your lift components are not correct for your application. Your getting the pulling, because the steering linkage/arms are wrong or wrongly installed. A good 4x4 shop, which I recall stopped existing 20 years ago or a frontend specialist ,if they will even touch it, could help. As your veh lifts on acceleration,the steering is out of travel,so to speak.

My jeep stutters when it goes over bumps, and sometimes it even stalls for what seems like no reason at all... what's wrong with it?

Check that all of the fuses and relays are pushed in tight. Check the wiring around the ignition system for loose connections.

STUTTERS DURING ACCELERATION

throttle position sensor .. this lets the computer know just where your foot is on the gas .. It gets worn out in that position because that is where it is used the most. I would check it first then go from there... they are priced reasonable .. always start with the least expensive first then go from there. thanks Jerry holler if you need more

1993 jeep grand Cherokee...stutter in drive at low rpm

Hello;
Have you checked your fuel pressure and volume? You may not be getting the ful sufficiently to the injectors. Also, change your fuel filter if you haven't already. Is the check engine light on?
Thanks;
