Question about 1995 Chevrolet Blazer

1 Answer

Rattling noise I have a 1995 Chevy blazer with around 157,000 miles on it, and have some sort of rattling noise going on, seeming like its coming from the engine. It happens usually when I'm going about 30 MPH but also when I press down hard on the gas. It only lasts for a few seconds, and goes away instantly when I let off the gas. Doesn't happen in Neutral, only when the car is in gear. Also the check engine light is not on. Any Help would be awesome thanks!

I have a 98 blazer that makes similar sounds but it's pieces of the dust shield off the rear wheel assembly that got down inside the brake rotor. Only happens when the truck is going forward

It could be the catalytic converter. While vehicle is off and parking brake on, go under the vehicle while it is cool and tap on the exhaust. See if the noise doesnt sound the same as you tap where the exhaust goes into the bigger section by the transmission.

Loud squeaking and rattling when you accelerate after a stop

Is the underside rusty? If so, take it to a qualified welding and autobody repair shop to have new metal welded on.

Your symptoms sound like the engine or transmission mounts may have deteriorated.

Rattling noise when i come to a stop

the rattling is most likley a heat sheild that is loose,I see this mostly every day. get some self tapping screws and secure the sheild back in it's place . Don't remove the heat sheild it's there for a reason.

Rattling Noise

The power steering pump could be going bad. The noise coming from the catalytic converter could be something as simple as a mounting bracket coming loose, or worst case something busted internally.

Rattling from the engine when I start the 2006 V6 Sonata

Do you have the air conditioning on when you hear this rattle? If so, it could the clutch for the a/c compressor. You may also want to check the status of the idler pulley on the serpentine belt. Hope this helped and best wishes.
