Question about 2004 Hyundai Tiburon
I just finished changing the clutch in my 03 tiburon. The dual mass flywheel is a horrible design. Everything is back together. The clutch is working correctly. You can see in the bell housing when the pedal is pushed the forks pull the bearing and disengage the clutch, but the tranny is acting like it is always in neutral. I go through 1-6 and reverse and they all act like neutral. I'm at a loss. There has to be something not correct in the gearbox. Please help.
Possibility, you may have intalled the clutch disk backwards.... if so, the disk hub is torqued against the crankshaft hub preventing engagement of the clutch.
2003 TIBUORN DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL AND CLUTCH DISC ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
The 2003 MY 2.7L Tiburon vehicle equipped with the 6-speed manual transaxle employs a dual mass flywheel system. The 2003 Tiburon Shop Manual does not show the clutch disc assembly with the dual mass flywheel. This bulletin provides information about how to assemble these components.
Although it is possible to assemble the clutch disc with either side facing the flywheel surface, only the assembly of these two parts shown in this bulletin is correct.
