Question about 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Coil is not firing after engine over-heating

I was driving down the interstate at 70 MPH and my heater hose busted (I guess from just being old). My car shut down and stopped running after about 5 seconds after the hose busted and my temp guage went to the top. I have replaced the hose and all my fluids and even the coil/distributor as well. The car sounds like it is trying to turn over, it's just not getting any ignition/fire from the coil to the spark plugs. It's a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS 2.0 Non-Turbo, thanks for the help :]

Check all of your fuses and all of the connectors at and near the distributor/coil.

Maybe.
Auto, manual, make, model? Hard to make an educated guess without much detail. If you add info, add it in comments rather than another question. Good Luck!

When car slows down heat cools down

when you have that problem , almost all the time is the heater core clogged , you can have the engine running until reach normal temperature and touch both heater hoses at the fire wall, if one is hot and the other is not them the problen is your heater core.

the flashing light means you have a miss fire in the engine. You probably have a coil bad. Each cylinder has its own coil. My suggestion would be to go to a parts store and let them scan to tell you which cylinder, then change the coil. If thats not it then you have a bad injector
