Brake lights/rear turn signals

I have a 1999 yukon SLE 5.7 4wd. The brake lights don't work nor do the rear turn singals. The front turn signals blink fast. I changed the bulbs and check all fuses. Is there a relay fuse/switch I'm missing? i see nothing in the owners manual. The third top light works, running lights work, just no brake or turn signal lights.

my right rear turn signal now does not work, however the break and parking lights do. I have replaced the whole assembly this summer and tried a new bulb with no luck. Any ideas?

Same problem here with my 99 Denali.....I replaced the board on the right side a week ago; not working as of today.

Also, I replaced the board on the left side 4 years ago and had to replace again 4 days ago. So far, it works fine.

I had the same problem with my 1999 Yukon. The electric board needed to be replaced. Rust starts to build up and shorts out or blows the bulb. The dealership charged $73.60 for the part and I installed it myself (Saved $30).

What is the electric board? Was there a part number or actual name for the replacement part?

I had a similar problem on a 99 yukon. The lights were burned out. When I replaced them the lights still did not work. I talked to an older friend of mine and he recommended some lithium grease. Spray a little grease on the old socket prior to installing the light. Plug in the new light and wiggle the light and it should work.

This drove me crazy for about two weeks.

I had the same problem last week, but it ended up being the turn signal switch in the steering colum. This is a master switch for turn signals, brakes and E-flashers. The part cost $234 at your local auto parts store. The mechanics book says 3 hours to replace. A friend and I replaced in just over two hours, but it was not easy at all. To do it correct and get at the mounting screws with ease you need to pull the steering wheel which we couldn't figure out how to do that.

Is there an adjustment for the stop light switch on a 99 GMC Yukon. I have replace it and my brake lights still do not work. Park lights work fine.

There is no adjustment. The park lights are on a different circuit than the brake lights.
Do you have a third brake light that works. Its also on a different circuit but works from the same switch. Do your turn signals work. They use the same filament as the brake lights.
Also, the brake light circuit goes through the multi function (turn signal) switch.

Since the brake lights and turn signal lights use the same filament in the bulbs, the brake light circuit will pass through the turn signal switch. When a turn signal is used it cancels out the brake light for that side.

Let me know if your third brake light and turn signals work in the rear.
Also, if youy have not already, check/change the bulbs. The type of sockets those lights are in also get burned so look at them well.

Brake lights don't work when headlights are on. When brake is pressed turn signals go fast and when brake is pressed when headlights are on they are so dim you can't see them plus turn signals...

{: ) Looks like your lightings got haywired. Have you had vehicle repairs recently? Anyway, it seems that you have poor grounding connections for the affected lightings. Some circuits share common ground, and ground terminals are strategically distributed on the vehicle. If these grounds don't have good contact with the body, chassis, or engine ground, circuit functions are badly affected. Thats why these ground points should be inspected and kept clean and tight, maintain that good wire and terminal contacts.
We can start with G100 located at the Left Front of the Engine Compartment on the left front body mount. See diagram below:

wyet_helps_24.gif Check out also G401 which is located in the chassis harness, mounted to the left rear Body mount. This ground point is shared by the rear lamps like the brakes, reverse, and rear signal lamps.
If possible check also other ground points that you may visually come across while on your search. Be sure also that fuses are all inspected good.
I hope we get lucky in finding and fixing a certain lamp function, if not all. Goodluck.

99 yukon denali drivers side turn signal in rear tail light not working, i replaced bulb and still nothing, I looked at the connections and wires and found nothing, front turn signal blinks fast, passenger...

The circuit board needs to be replaced. Which is the board that the bulbs sit in. If you remove the turn signal bulb. You will notice the bulb socket will be slightly burnt inside. I had the same problem with my 99 Denali and replaced the circuit board for $35.00. Now everything is fine.

Did you check the brake and signal light bulbs? If something happened that blew a fuse, chances are you probably lost some bulbs too. that should fix your problem
