All of my driver door switches stopped working and the driver door open indicator stays on when the door is shut. My current issue is opening the fuel filler door with the switch, can anyone tell mr how to trigger that manually?

The connector from the door to the jam is rubber booted and seems secure on the outside, where else should I look?

Try looking between the front door jam and the door that is where the connection point is for the door electronics. you might have to pull the kick panel there to see if the door bulkhead connector has worked it's way loose as it did on mine

Very difficult. You have to open the inside access door on the drivers side, remove the amp and wheel well cover, pinch the tabs and the bulb cluster will release. The taillight assembly is bolted from inside of the car, so it can't be done outside.

The driver side door will not latch. It tries to auto lock when the rest of the door do - but wont.

try using the remote unlock - then press the remote lock. This works on my 2000 jetta tdi. VW dealership told me $450 job to change door latch and $45 to figure out if it is the latch or the NEW key they programmed a few months ago. By the way - is yours a NEW Key?
