Lift the arm and turn the blade 90 degrees from arm to form a "T" it should then slide right out of the "hook"

How do I open the hood on my car if the release latch in the car breaks and it won't release when I pull on the cable under the kick panel with a pliers?

Depending upon how your Dodge was constructed, it may be necessary to access the latch from underneath. A straightened wire coat hanger is a useful substitute for the release cable. You will need a bright light source to find where to hook the hanger and pull. Someone will have to press down on the hood to release latch tension and allow release.

How can I open the hood of my car when the cable does not work without breaking the front grille?

it's not easy so ill give you my best ( cuz it happened to me ) try to find where cable goes to hood latch if you can use a coat hanger with a sharp bend in it like a hook and find where it connects to hood release in grill hook it and pull at some point you may have to crawl under it to find cable. next one is if you can see that hood release cable is still hooked up try to get it where you can grab it with VICE GRIPS and squeeze it as tight as possible and pull hard, if this dosent work do you know for sure your self that cable is broken in two places find where and use VICE GRIPS . hope some of this helps let me know thanks Woody.

How do I re-attach my wiper arms?

Start off by putting a cardboard box over the windshield and under the wiper arm to avoid breaking or scratching the windshield. You need to turn on the wiper switch and then turn on the key. When your wiper arm is pointing to the top of the windshield turn off the key to keep it there. Now, depending on the type of wiper arm you have ( bayonet, shepherd hook, L pin or straight arm ) depends on how to remove old arm. Shepherd hook is the most common and has a lock on the blade that needs to be pressed in to release the blade from the arm. Now slide the blade toward the windshield, off of the cradle for the arm. Swivel the cradle so you can slip the blade off from the inside of the arm and reverse procedure to install. The Bayonet, L pin and straight arm styles usually require a small flat blade screwdriver pushed between the body of the blade and the arm, then twist to release blade. Some blades also have a lock that will need to be pressed to release blade from arm, then twist screwdriver to remove. Hope this helps!!

Bonnet cable broken, how to open bonnet

The cable can break either at the left or right hand latch - if you are lucky as I was, the cable operating the left hand catch was the broken one, and was broken near the right hand latch release mechanism.
I was able to open the right hand latch with the bonnet release from inside thecar.
You then have to get a piece of fairly strong wire(I used a 2.8mm welding rod) and bend a fairly tight hook in one end. Using a torch so you can see the bonnet release cable, feed the wire in through the grill and hook the swage on the end of the cable that operated the left hand latch. A frim pull on the wire should then release the left hand latch.
Good luck!

There is no J hook arm on my f-150. I purchased rain-x Weatherbeater wiperblades which has a "j-hook' arm connector. The tip of my wiper shaft doesn't seem to fit. Do I need to go to a ford dealer?

There should be a small plastic piece in the package with the wiper blades. It should convert the "j hook" to fit your wiper arm. Hope this helps.

I drive a 1991 Buick Park Avenue and I can't get the hood to open on my car. It overheated yesterday and I need to pop the hood to see the problem, but the hood won't come up. I tried the release lever...

I would have someone hold the hood release latch while bumping the front of the hood to try to bump the hood loose. Once opened, be sure to lubricate the hood latch under the hood and also lubericate the safety latch as well to prevent this in the future. Use white lithium grease to lube all latches. Be sure to work the latch a couple dozen times after lubricating a few times before closing the hood to ensure it is working properly.

My front driverside door latch is malfunctioning. the door doesnt open. how would i go about getting a new latch and repairing it?

if you cannot open the door try several times using the electric unlock button.move the manual lever back and forth if it does not open you can try to remove the panel from the inside but that is usually imposible. you will need to find a shop ,probably abody shop that can release the lock as though they where breaking into the car.this can be done fairly easiy if they have tool.

Driverside headlight out.

Ok a little complex. You have to open the hood. Look near the battery on the headlight assembly tou'll see a clip and a lever. You have to depress the clip and move the lever completely down. Lots of times seized. Use as much lube to release the slider. Once you get it low enough I use a suction cup on the headlamp and pull it out while moving the lever down. Once they line up inside you can pull out the assembly to change the bulb. Sometimes we have to replace the slider guide in the head lamp retainer when they break. Sometimes not an easy fix.
