Question about 2002 Mercury Cougar
I need help taking off the steering wheel from a 2001 mercury cougar
Don't listen to that guy!!!! you need to take the plastic cover behind the steering wheel. there are two bolts holding the air bag in t30 (torx) then the air bag falls right off. then the steering wheel is held in by a 15 mm head bolt.
Warning: make sure battery is disconnected for at least 30 min before you mess with the air bag connector

Go to an autoparts store like advance auto or autozone where they have the loan a tool program. rent a steering wheel puller, follow the directions on the bos and it will come right off. You can then return it for your money back, because you don't use it to reinstall the wheel.
