Is the car getting gas? May have a fuel line stopped up or gas filter stopped up.
May even be fuel pump. It all depends on whether or not it is getting gas. I previously had this problem and turned out to be catalyc converter was clogged up.

i would check the idle air control solenoid first. simply unplug it then remove the unit and inspect the air passage for any blockage and carbon buildup. Clean it if its dirty then test it out. If the IAC is good then you should look at the throttle position sensor.

Need diagram for 1995 subaru legacy automatic transmission. 176K , Reverse went out about 10 months ago but all other gears shift fine. Have driven from San Francisco to Lake Tahoe 4/5 times with no...

It's a bad solenoid. Reverse and low gears work off the same set of clutches. If you have first gears , then its a solenoid problem. I would first start by pulling plugs, transmission, TCM and everything in between. Check for corrosion, Use an ohm meter and check the wires for continuity. On some models the safety neutral switch/ range selector switch has a lot to do with how the transmission shifts. If the tcm can't read the switch it wont send power to the solenoid. so far I haven't found a place that will sell just solenoids. You have to buy the whole package. These start at about $200.00

I have a 95 subaru legacy 4 door. When I turn the key it clicks. I repeat this until it finally starts. What could my issue be?

YOU HAVE THE STARTER SOLENOID CONTACTS BURNT. REPLACE THE SOLENOID, OR STARTER WITH A REBUILD ONE.

Turn the key and nothing a few turns later it starts..

sounds like the contact plate inside the starter is no good.the solenoid on the starter engages a set of contacts which get burnt spots on them.eventually after a few tries it works. it will get worse and worse until it will not work at all.

Possible starter going out on 95 Legacy

providing your battery cable connections are clean and tight, it is probably the solenoid (starter) thet is worn out... but check all your connections first.

Starter

I would go straight to the starter solenoid connector(under spare tire) and check for 12v signal while turning the key. If there are 12volts present with key in start...replace starter motor. This is the most probable and fastest way to check you no crank condition.Realy is under dash, driver side in the event you want to access that.

95 Cavalier wont start without a jump after replacing starter

loosen the battery cable.... start the car with a boost.... after it is running... unhook the battery.... if it dies... replace the alternator... if it keeps running... replace the battery.... make sure this is done outside and everyone working on the car is wearing safety glasses

this is caused by burnt starter solenoid contacts, U can either replace the starter solenoid contacts (about $15) or u can replace the entire starter.
