Question about 2002 Chevrolet Impala

1 Answer

I own a 2005 Impala, but, in error, I purchased a 2000 Impala High Beam Flasher. The 2005 and 2000 Impala have differant head lamp plugs. I am pretty sure you cannot give me exact wire-to-wire matching I need... but, if I can be supplied the color wiring diagram for these two vehicles, hopefully I will be able make due with this flasher.

Bulldogsecurity.com is a great site and gives wiring diagrams for all makes/models of vehicles. The other person is right, it would be best to purchase the proper part for your vehicle.

Right low beam headlight does not come on but my right turn signal will stay even tho i diddnt turn it on. If I cut on my high beams the rurn signal cuts off. Whats wrong? Helo

It could be the lamp control module !
Headlamps
Battery positive voltage (B+) is applied at all times to the lamp control module (LCM) through the underhood fuse block HDLP fuse.
When you place the headlamp switch in the HEAD position, the headlamps input to the LCM is grounded. The LCM then applies battery positive voltage (B+) through the underhood fuse block HDLOBML fuse and HDLOBMR fuse, which feed the left low beam headlamp and the right low beam headlamp respectively. When you activate the headlamp dimmer switch by pulling on the multifunction lever until the switch clicks, the high beam input circuit to the LCM in grounded . The LCM then removes battery positive voltage (B+) from the low beam headlamps and supplies battery positive voltage (B+) through the underhood fuse block HDHIBML fuse and HDHIBMR fuse, which feed the left high beam headlamp and the right high beam headlamp respectively.
Check this fuse in the left under hood fuse box first. HDLOBMR Fuse 18 10 Amp. RH Low Beam Headlamp . If the fuse is good check for B+ voltage with the low beams on . Use a test light or volt meter . If you look on top of fuse there are two metal tabs ,check there for B+ voltage , If no B+ voltage the LCM - lamp control module isn't supplying any .

No head lights

The lamps could be burned out, but check operation of the column switch and the headlight relays in the front ECU. Check fuses 16, 17, 18 and 19 in the engine compartment relay box.

Trying to disconnect old wiring harness from 2006 Impala head lamp without taking headlamp apart. Can't retreive wire from high beam lamp.

The head light assembly comes out in one piece. There are two clips (usually white or black) in the frame just behind the headlights. Pull them up and the assembly will pull forward. Made this way to replace the bulbs. On some models the assembly will stick at the corner, this is just a plug holding it, tug on it and it will come loose and wont break.

I have a 2005 chev impala can i replace my high beams headlights with just low beam lights

NO YOU HAVE TO REPLACE HIGH BEAM LIGHT BULBS WITH HIGH BEAM LIGHT BULBS BECAUSE HIGH BEAM LIGHT BULBS AND LOW BEAM LIGHT BULBS TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF BULBS.WEAR CLEAN LATEX GLOVES HANDLING THE HEADLIGHT BULBS WHICH IS HALOGEN LIGHT BULBS, OIL FROM FINGERS OR HAND WILL CAUSE HALOGEN BULBS TO OVER HEAT BLOW OUT.

ok put the ground back were you cut it and remove bezel near head light switch test powers in and out with 12 volt test light on low beam and high beam you may just have a bad head light switch make sure you have headlight power coming out of the swicth for low beams.

Low beam headlights not working on 2004 Pontiac Montana extended

You headlight lamp have a diffuser mechanism which allows it to flip between the hight beam and low beam feature of the bulb. In fact, you high beam will function even if the low beam is not working.

I would recommend the purchase of the new headlight lamp. It would cost you you any where from $15.00 per unit to get a replacement lamp
