1996 subaru legacy wagon 2.2 AWD leaking tranny fluid out of bell housing. Transmission lines not leaking. Assume it's coming off of the shaft on the torque converter. What seals could be leaking? & can...

I'm not sure about what gasket to check, but I've always left my manual tranny's connected to the transaxles and removed the axles at the transaxle. This made simpler by popping the ball joints out, thus allowing the hub assembly to swing away. Hope this helps.

1996 Subaru Legacy. Two belts, one goes to power

I assume you got this fixed by now? To tighten the harmonic balancer, this is the way I do it: under the intake manifold towd the back of the engine there is a black plug or a hole where a black plug used to be that is an access window to the torque converter bolts. Rotate the crank over with a breaker bar and socket until you see a hole through the flywheel, this is where i wedge a large screwdriver into to hold the crank in place and tighten the balancer bolt with a breaker bar and socket. If you do have a torque wrench the spec is 70-80 ft-lbs on the 2.2 and 90-100 on the 2.5 model
