Question about 2000 Volvo S70

Starting problem When starting the car, it will start the rpm's will rise up and the car will die. then the car will just turn over and not start at all. This might happen a couple of times. let it sit a few seconds reset the key and it will start. This might happen once or twice a week, normaly in the mornings. I'm woundering if the fuel pump is going. The starting problems have been going on for a few mounths. Today the car will not stay running. you have to keep the rpm's up untill it warms up enough to stay running on its own. My wife hit something in the road that blew out one of her tire. had it towed to tire shop where they said the car had a cracked turbo cooler/ inner cooler the put some kind of opoxy to fix the crack. The car only started to run like this after she run over the metal object in the road. I'm woundering if I have two problems here or one problem that has gotten worst. Thank you

Just out of curiosity what does the protectant on your key look like. I had a problem similar and the black rubber type protectant around the key base was worn down pretty well. After having a new key made never had the problem again.( note ck another spare key if it is not worn and see if it still dies ) GOOD LUCK

If it started after the damage was done to the intercooler pipe, then that is where you should focus. A leak in that pipe/hose will cause the problem you mention.
I would guess the check engine light is on, but even if it's not, get the codes checked.

My 2003 S430 Mercedes Benz's wont accelerate when I press the gas pedal. The RPM gauge does not rise either. What do you think it could be?

  1. The Pedal is not connected!! as there is no action it does, since you can easily start on the engine, then there is no problem with the engine itself.
  2. Does the RPM moves while trying starting engine? if YES, so it is a pedal problem

Rough idle no check engine light on starting to stall when making turns at low speed like in the drive thru radio lights flicker

did not specify rpm, but sounds likely to be a idle control valve, it adjust engine rpm when a demand or load is apply like turning your wheel, so the engine dont die. try cleaning it, if not enougth carbon build up found in it, replace valve.

88 dodge shadow idles very ruff. pedal to floor to start.

i have an 88 dodge shadow turbo with a five speed. the car will fall on its face at 5500rpm coming out of first gear. and its rpm range gets lover with each gear. the fuel pressure rises when it fall on its face. the car never dies just falls then picks back up and will fall again unless you keep it under the that rpm. then it is fine. what could be the problem?
