Question about 2004 Kia Sorento

1 Answer

My 03 Kia Sorento will not go into 4wheel drive. I've tried rolling both back and front with it on then off. Now It's not engaged but the 4wheel low indicator is on. Is there a vacuum valve somewhere that pulls the gear in and out of 4wheel that I can check? Help!

Trace the vacuum line from the left front wheel (drivers side) into the engine compartment tee, from the tee it goes up to the vacuum valve. You will see the wires on the bottom of the valve.
The vacuum hoses tend to break at the wheels, check that.
Also, check the hose running into the valve from a little canister, and make sure no hoses are disconnected from the cannister...
Good luck.

What is wrong 4wheel drive don't work? 1999 kia sportage

if this is a push button 4 wheel drive you need to find out if the actuator on the transfer case is working, if not check the voltage to the actuator and make sure it is getting a signal if it is then change out the actuator, if it isn't then you need to case back to the fuse and relay make sure those are good and then last the button...
good luck

you need to change all four tires. The computor is noticing the slight change it tire speed from front to rear and thinks it's slipping so it is trying to put it in 4x4.You will ruin your trany other wise.
