If you have ABS and that warning light comes on, you should have the system scanned for trouble codes. The code will point you in the right direction to look for the problem.
Could be a faulty brake caliper, or other problem.

SOURCE: abs light on always

Have you checked your brake fluid? It may be low or an indication that the brake pads are worn, causing the light to stay on.

SOURCE: disabling faulty abs breaks. Will car still pass mot?

If there is only one sensor faulty you should be able to replace that one.If for any reason one abs wheel sensor cannot connect to the abs system reader it stopes working. It means your brakes working just as fine but the Anti Block System is not functioning anymore.Your car will certainly pass the mot without ABS.

SOURCE: 95 G20 Chevy van: ABS light stays on, pulls right when braking

You actually have two separate problems. The brake pull to the right is indicating the left side brake is not working properly. You will want to remove the left front wheel, collapse the caliper piston and make sure the caliper is floating freely on its mounts.
With the piston collapsed you should be able to slide the caliper inboard and outboard of the rotor. If not, you will want to remove the attachment pins, clean and lubricate the pins. If they are grooved or worn you will have to replace them.
The second issue of the ABS light is indicating the system has detected an electrical sensing or control problem. Take the vehicle to your local Auto Zone or Advance Auto and ask them to scan the vehicle for trouble codes. They will scan it for you at no charge.
Chances are you will find a wheel speed sensor problem at one of the wheels.
Write the codes down and respond back, we can start diagnosing the problem,
Good luck, let me know.

ABS light is on after replacing ABS sensors of a 2001 F250 5.4 4x4

If there is not an issue with the abs than the light would be off the next time you turned on the key. If the light is on there is a problem. Double check your work. If everything is ok than scan the abs module and see what codes are present.

Abs light is on

you have a code in the abs module that will have to be pulled to know were to look for the problem until then you will have no abs brake function just regular brakes like if you didn`t have abs on your car.

I have a 2002 VW New Beetle. The ABS light has come on and there is a chiming beep and the ABS light flickers. What could be the problem?

ABS - Anti-lock Brake System.
If the ABS lights on the dashboard permanently the ABS system is faulty. You must access the ABS Electronic Control Unit (ECU) memory for pull out all DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes), using diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car. Then you will be full informed about bad pieces (e.g.: front right wheel abs sensor interrupted, ...). After bad pieces replacement you will be able to erase all faults memored by ABS ECU, in other words reset the ABS system and turn off the warning lamp on dashboard.
ASR - Acceleration Skid Control system.
When ASR warning light blinking the system is activated itself for car acceleration skid control.

For today's typical high-torque engines, traction control (ASR) can increase both comfort and safety, particularly when driving on slippery roads or surfaces offering differing levels of grip. Traction control permits smooth starting and acceleration through the full speed range without wheel-spin or fishtailing.
tdisline_703.jpg

ASR only operates in conjunction with the electronic accelerator (E-gas) and uses components of the anti-lock braking system (ABS). If one wheel suddenly begins to rotate faster than the others (slip), ASR intervenes in the engine management system and reduces power until the wheel stops spinning.
The ASR system represents a further contribution to active safety as it maintains vehicle traction and directional stability throughout the acceleration phase at any speed. In addition, it reduces tyre wear. Activation of the ASR system is indicated by a flashing indicator lamp in the instrument cluster.
The ESP system means the Electronic Stability Program. ESP system includes the ABS system.

The ABS light just came on what do I look at for the problem. I have a 2004 Jetta 2.0

If the light comes on as you turn on the ignition and stays on when you drive. This indicates that the ABS control unit is faulty or there is an open circuit in the wiring, most likely to the wheel speed senders. Look at the sensors harness's near the tyres as these some times come loose and get worn through by the tyre. If the light only comes on once the vehicle is motion, this indicates that one of the wheel sensors is not getting a signal due to incorrect space between sensor and ABS ring or a dirty sensor. If the front CV joints or the rear discs have been replaced the ABS rings may have been left off. Have somebody with a diagnostic tester check the fault memory as this will pinpoint the fault a lot quicker.

ABS light stays on

Hi!

If you have a abs light on consistently then you need to check the code and if it says front wheel sensor, it may not be damaged, but just need to be cleaned. To clean the dirty tyres you need the following tools--

Ratchet
10mm
Short Extension
Jack
Jack Stands
Wheel Lock
Rag or Paper Towels

1) First start by removing the front wheel for either passenger or driver side depending on which one you start with. Make sure to support your car on jack stands and not just the jack.

2) Next turn the steering wheels all the way in, opposite the side you are working on. For example if you are working on the passenger side, turn the wheel all the way towards the drivers side.

3) Locate the ABS wheel sensor which is directly mounted onto the knuckle and then remove the two 10mm bolts that hold the abs sensor directly. Then along the line there’s another two 10mm bolts that need to be removed, just follow the abs sensor line to get at them.

4) Now take your rag or paper towels and start wiping off all the dirt and/or grease.

Follow steps 3 - 1 backwards for re-installation.

If the problem is not resolved then you need to take a serious view. Because the ABS System in the vehicle is computer modulated and if the light is on it means that there is a malfunction somewhere in the system. It could be a sensor that has gone bad or if you just recently had tires changed it could be someone knocked something loose on one of the wheels. Please do not wait further as the indicator lamp on is telling you your ABS system is not functioning properly and in an emergency situation it could cost you immensely. Get it checked out at your local dealer immediately.

Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

1995 Geo Prizm ABS always light on.

I have the feeling that the cv was replaced with one that didn't have a tone ring (part of the ABS) on it, or the tech neglected to put the sensor back in the knuckle.
Definitely take it back. Good luck!
