Question about 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Door Remote Can you please advise which way the batteries go in the door remote? I have tried them with the plus down and the plus up. It still won't work. I appreciate your help. ( I just bought a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited.)

Although I can't tell you which way to put them in, they should have worked in one way or the other.  You say you just bought it, did the remote work when you got it?
The remotes for the 93-95 models were IR (infrared light) based as opposed to RF (radio frequency) based, so they would sometimes only work while in front of the vehicle pointing the remote at the windshield.  Sort of like a TV remote.

Sounds like your door module is the issue. You can try to disconnect the battery for 5-10 minutes then retry or GMC to see if there is a recall.

Replaced battery in remote for 2006 chevrlet corvette cnvertible and it still won't open the door or tart the engine. How can Iopen the doors and the hood so I can check and maybe jump the battery

Changing the battery in the remote won't affect the programming, and neither should a dead car battery. I am surprised there is no keyed entry on the driver's door.

Power door lock switch?

Sounds like the drivers door lock switch is bad an as far as the auto start remote the contacts under the button get dirty and won't make contact, open the remote like changing the battery and you can probably get at the contact button, if it's a little carbon button they can be cleaned with a pencil eraser and then paper tower with a bit of rubbing alcohol, if it's an actual switch you can try spraying some contact cleaner into the switch. let it dry before you put the battery back in.

Wireless Key Remote door & trunk opener won't work with trunk anymore

When you press the trunk open button, do you hear any "release" noise come from the trunk area? The issue may be a bad battery in the key fob OR there could be an issue with the transmitter located inside the vehicle. Do the doors lock and unlock properly? is the vehicle equipped with security or immobilizer? please advise

The remote to unlock the doors works sometimes after pressing the open button on the remote. The remote locks the car doors and truck with ease but difficult to unlock the doors. I replaced the battery...

its not the remote it is the autolocking system, its getting warn and it is getting harder to unlock. Its easy for to lock because it is a down ward motion.

How do you program the garage door remote?

Turn the key to the "ON" position; do not start the vehicle.

Press on the button of the 3 available to you on the vehicle and hold it until advised to release it.

Take your garage door remote transmitter, and press the button that you use to make the garage door operate, hold it down until advised to release.

With the vehicle button being depressed, and the remote button depressed, hold the remote up against the area where the 3 buttons are located. It needs to touch the area wher the buttons are.

Keep moving the remote around slowly, back & forth, spin the remote, until the red light starts to blink slow.
After the light begins to blink slow, hold the remote in that exact position until the lamp blinks real fast.
Relase both buttons.
Repeat for a second remote on another button.
