Dis-connect battery, drain coolant, remove fan & radiator cowling ( fan coupling has a left hand thread ) undo 4 x retaining bolts in water pump housing. To get the pump out, you may have to tap it slightly & lever it about as the body fits inside an alloy casting. Before you refit, make sure the housing the pump fit into it clean & free from corrosion or pitting by cleaning with some medium to fine abrasive paper. Put some grease ( not sealer ) around the new pump seal & refit everything else. Remember to bleed the air out of the cooling system before driving. Hope this helps & good luck !

SOURCE: i am trying to remove

Siezed pumps are a nightmare.

Spray with penetrating fluid, let that soak for 5 minutes then use a length of 3x3 wooden post and hit hard with a lump hammer. It will eventually break out.

The pump is alloy the block is cast so you'll be fine.

How do you replace the water pump?

The water pump located on front of engine. Its held by 4 bolts.Which you will have to remove. 1) First drain the coolant. 2) Remove serpentine belt. Loosen water pump pulley.( Use a pry-bar to hold the pulley). 3) Remove small belt guard just above pump. The water pump with the belt will come out. 4) Then remove the bolts connected to the water pump side. This will disconnect water pump from the belt. Before removing any parts mark its position with a marker. So that while refitting you dont face any kind of problem.Other thing, before doing this disconnect the negative cable of the battery for safety reasons. ---------------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Water temp gage sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't

Likely the temp sending unit has failed. They aren't very expensive. One on 4.0 engine is on the thermostat housing but don't know which engine you have.
Blower problem could be the resistor pack but not sure exactly where it is on yours, it is always on the heater box and generally looks like a flat fiber plate with four wires going to it.

1994 mazda capella has water pump leak ........

Hi

The general reasons for the failure of a water pump are as follows.....

1. General mechanical failure in the seal, or bearing of the water pump, due to general wear and tear, or engine having been overheated badly.

2. Over tensioning, of the drive belt, putting excess strain on the water pump bearing.

I hope this has been of help to you.

A FixYa rating would be Nice... Thank You ...John.

My 98 eclipse is making a screeching noise in the engine

1.Most likely alternator belt is not tight enough or need new one.2. A/C-Power steering belt is loose or need new one. 3. Bearing in A/C-Power Steering Tensioner is going bad. 4. Not the water pump unless you are loosing water all the time. Timing belt runs the water pump & you need to tear down the engine. If so ,you would need to replace the timingbelt, tensioners, and maybe the hydraulic tensioner. NOT FOR $300, more like 5-600. Get yourself a Haynes Manual for 95-99 Eclipse at AUTOZONE,Advanced Auto, or Pep Boys and read up on this.
