Question about 1996 Saturn SL
There is a good chance the alternator is bad. It could also be a bad ground, or poor connection at the battery, but the alternator failing is a somewhat common problem. You can take the car to most shops, they should be able to perform a charging system test and tell you whether or not the alternator has failed. If it has gone bad and you are somewhat mechanically inclined you could probably replace the alternator yourself. It is not the easiest one ever, but its very doable for a DIY type.
