2005 pacifica w/ HID headlamps driver side doesnt work

I've checked the passenger and drivers side. as of now I have 2 bulbs that work and only one headlamp that works. i'm getting power to the entire headlamp assembly - turn signals work, high beams work, running lights. I can't get the low beam to work. any thoughts? what do i check next?

When you dim the lights from high beams, one goes out and the other dimes. The next time that one may work but the other doesn't. We have replaced the headlamp twice so tried replacing multi-function switch.
It continues to not function properly.

Check the connector wire for continuity on the low end side with a good OHM meter. You probably have a broken wire connection but can't see it due to insulation. See if you have voltage on the low end side of the plug. No voltage, no light. Probe the wire and find where the current stops. Also make sure you don't have the ground reverse on the plug to the headlight. Before replacing it of course. Or you can cut all the wires and replace with a new connector.

It sounds like a fuse problem. You don't state what make of car but some have a fuse for each headlamp and tailight located in the box under the hood. Good luck.

Why is my Passenger headlamp dim. No other lights affected on right side.

The passenger side is grounding threw the drivers side. When you pull the drivers side light the other looses it ground. It is actually grounded threw the bulb. The reason it is dim. It could be the plug. Find the ground and run a new one to the bulb from the body.

I have a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica my driver side tail light and front amber light don't work passenger side works fine bulbs aren't burnt out

have the fuse box checked ,drivers side lower dash the cover should give list of fuse location , if ok check the wiring from the light fitting to the earth wire connection to the body/chassis,make sure this is a good connection , the bulb holders themselves can sometimes get brittle over time so the bulb may be fine but might need removing and refitting checking that the contacts are meeting etc ,keep me posted if you wish

HID Headlamp flickers and then shuts off withing a few seconds after coming on.

Sounds like the head light is defective or the driver for the light. Normally both are replaced.

How do i wire up hid headlights on 2005 mazda 3

To wire up an HID kit on the low beams of your Mazda 3 2005, you will need 3-4 things:
1- HID kit (bulbs and ballasts)
2- HID relay (connects your hid kit to your battery)
3- 4700uF capacitor (solves DRL flickering issue)
4- H7 hid bulb adaptor (you can also use the rubber piece that holds the bulb wires as a spacer)

Wiring diagram:
http://www.carsets.co.uk/upload/temp/images/hid-light-installation-photo-display.jpg

Tips on How to wire up:
1. HID bulb's amp wires connects with the ballast's amp wires. (There's only one way to connect them.)
2. The positive and the negative spade connectors from the hid relay connect with your vehicle's low beam connector, closest to your battery: the driver side. The passenger side low beam connector is not used and should be insulated. You can use electric tape.)
3. Each ballast is connected to one of the relay's clip connector, and it's grounded on each side to your vehicle's body. (One connector for each ballast, one for each side. You can use the screw for the body as a ground.)
4. The red wire(with the inline fuse) in the relay connects to your battery's positive terminal.
5. The capacitor sits on the relay switch. (Google for how to wire the capacitor onto the hid relay switch.) dynoxg image
6. The halogen bulb sits on an adapter. You can safely remove them from each other, and use an H7 hid adapter instead.

2005 Lexus Rx330 Ballast problem??? First I saw my passenger side HID headlight was on and off and then mostly off. I thought the HID bulb burnt out. I bought a new one and replaced it. After I installed...

Well, we seem to have a real dilema here. I just searched the service manual for your 2005 RX330 and I cannot find any reference to a ballast for the HID headlamp bulbs. According to the wiring diagram, they are wired to the Headlamp Control Relays in Junction Block #2. (Right-hand side of the engine compartment) These relays are "Solid State", so my guess is that the balast for the HID may be built in to them. These are controlled by the Body Control Module. I would recommend scanning the body control module for fault codes before doing anything else. The first step in the diagnostic chart for the headlamp system is to perform a diagnostic systems check. There is a symptom chart to follow if there are no codes present, but if there are codes in the system, you could be shooting yourself in the foot trying to follow the symptom chart without first correcting any fault codes. This is not your fathers headlamp system - it is equipped with tracking control and automatic headlamp leveling...VERY sophisticated. Also lots of stuff that can break...this is what I call JOB-SECURITY- - LOL!
