Does your mustang have vacum or electric control. If vacum, pull out controll and check if all the vacum lines are connected. Or if there are any cracks in the line. Check both ends of the line, where it connects to the control and up to the heater box.

Testimonial: "It was in fact a vacuum line under the hood on the firewall, the line was taught and had cracked and broke off due to the hard angle it was being pulled in. A/C is good as new now. "

They're electric, you're pretty sure it's a problem with the controls?

Check vent door motors. If you can see the motors on the air box, you should be able to see somthing spining when you adjust contol. If it works check to see if ducts are secured. Or maybe a mouse got in there and blocked duct with debree.

Yeah the air box looks good and although I can't feel up there I cant imagine those hoses would have enough room to work loose, the vents were flowing fine this morning; since the controls work for everything else I'm thinking there must be an obstruction too. Thanks for your help, when I get it fixed I'll post the cause.

Why is air coming from all three areas (vents/floor/defrost) regardless of setting?

There is actually two blend door actuator that control the opening and closing of your vents. Ine is located under the drivers side dash board. The is on the passengers side. Both are electric and I didnt have the money to replace them so i removed them and turned it with a pliers to allow heat to come out of bothe sides of the vent. Then come summer flip the little bar back the other way to A/C
Hope this helps

1996 Montero Heater Blower not working

I assume your heater setting is electric control, if so either your defrost and floor heat switch failed or wire problem. For the air not hot, check the heat control valve on the top of the hose it should be in front of the firewall. I don't know your car is using mechanic valve or electric control valve. Anyway check there first. Good luck.

My ac unit is working but will not blow air out of the dash vents. The blower is working

Hey man if the blower is working and air is coming from your other vents i have a few ideas.First i would start by checking your vent selection switch something may be stuck where the dash vents open. If the selector is fine you should try checking the ducting behind the dash it could have come apart or simply be cloged where it routes air to your dash. hope that is helpfull.

AC is only blowing through the defrost vents in the dashboard?

I think your problem is the head unit that selects where the air comes out ie. Face, floor, defrost, or hi-level face and floor. If that's not working then it will not let you switch location that you want the air to come out.

Air condition

Have you checked the diverter doors under the dash??
It sounds like a vaccum hose may have fallen off your vent controller.
I have had similar problems and found that the air WAS moving, but it was all going up through the defrost vents at the windshield.
A quick check of the vac. lines showed that one under the glove box was pulled off.
with the engine running, try setting the air settings to all the options ( vent/floor/defrost..etc..)
See it you can feel or hear the diverters moving under the dash..
