Isuzu I-290 parts from a Chevrolet Colorado or GMC Canyon

Can you use parts from a Chevrolet Colorado or GMC Canyon on an Isuzu I-290?If a part I'm looking for isn't listed for the 2008 I290, should I just order it as a 2008 Chevy Colorado and know that it will fit.

Example: Want to replace the bucket/bench seat in my I290 but companies don't list the seats and brackets as available for it, but do for the 2008 Colorado.

Most of the manufacturers give different trade names for their products in order to distinguish them from the crowd(most occasionally they may be the same parts).so there is no problem in interchanging the best suited parts.so you can use the thing you preferred .thank you

They come off the same assembly line, they are for all intents and purposes the same truck, just different names. read attached.

A: The parts sure better be interchangeable, seeing as how all of those Isuzu pickups roll off of the Canyon/Colorado assembly line. In truth, the Canyon/Colorado is actually based on a jointly-developed platform that was originally sold overseas as the Isuzu D-MAX – however, on the version that was later built here in the United States, General Motors swapped-in their own engines and restyled the body… but the platform itself is virtually identical. Due to something called the Chicken Tax, Isuzu sells the GM version here in the US (rather than their version that is built in Thailand). Basically, it is far too cost prohibitive for Isuzu to sell the D-MAX in the United States – so, to save themselves the tariff, they simply slapped an Isuzu emblem on the domestically-produced Canyon/Colorado instead. I want to lift my i290 3 inches with a leveling kit. i cant seem to find one for it. do you know a place where i can find one? if not will one for the chevy colorado fit it?

one for the colorado or the gmc canyon will work all the same seeing as it is all the same vehicle the only thing differant is on the isuzu i series where it has metric bolts instead of standard.. also you can create your own leveling kit by going to a hardware supply store ie: lowes/ home depot. you need to buy bolts, rubber pvc conduit approx 1 inch thick with a center hole big enough for the bolt to fit and a few washers. then cut/trim/and create your own level kit and all you need to purchase is a fuel tank extension kit so the resevoir still reaches the fuel pump access point..

My 2006 Colorado Crewcab 5 w/90,000 is running rough. Acts like miss firing.

If you have a chevy colorado, or GMC Canyon with a 2.8 or 3.5 liter and you keep getting a code p0300 and dispite everything you do you can't get it cleared. The problem is the valve seats in the head. GM is having a lot of problems with this so much that you can get this repaired by gm for free.they have what is called a extended warranty program on this. for like up to 7 years or 100.000 miles. so if you have this problem ask some questions at your local dealer. there not going to let people know this much because gm has to pay for it to be repaired. just ask them about recall # 07123A.
