Rear break abs pulsation after changing the rear breaks

What do you think is the problem?

    I changed the rear break and the rotor and the bearings. I had to also change a caliper becauce it was frozen the other one was ok a little hard to get back in but it suceeded.I bleed the lines rr,lr,rf,lf in this sequence. The only other thing that i could think that could cause this is the sensor or the ring which had to be taped off the old and tap on the new. There were no problems taping the ring on and off everthing went on stright. oh one other thing there was alittle rust on one of the new rotors .Or maby i got some oil on the rotors ,but i used break cleaner.

    wow, this can happen to bran new rotors? but the pelal is not vibrating though the hole stoping ,just when i come to a compleat absolute stop like the abs is kicking in.Foe example i apply the breaks and the fell great then when I come to a stop sign and i wont to stop sudenly the fell fine right to the very end the pulsintion and the noise of the abs pump comes on.Like the car thinks i am in a looking situation. do you thick the other caliper is looking up?

    ok found he problem it was the abs sensor was pulled half way out after cleaning and placeing it back the car beaks great.I also sprayed the break rotors with break cleaner there was a little grease left on the rotor from my hand I guess i did not clean the enough.I drove the car all day and no problems at all. :)

    I am a tec also , I just could not figure this one out.I knew it was not and out of round rotor because there was no pulsation aas i was slowing ,just when i had a sudden stop,like it was preventing skiding, like it is supossed to do. thanks for your help .

I think you have a rotor that is out of true. Take them off and get them trued up at your local auto parts store. ABS problems will turn on the warning light so I doubt that would be the problem. If the pedal is nice and hard I would say you bled them right. Good luck.

    It can happen with new rotors.It's all about how they are stored. This is how we in the biz confirm if we have a warped rear rotor/drum. Drive the car on a dry road. Put the car in nuetral and SLOWLY apply the parking brake. As the car starts to slow down you will feel the pulse if the rear rotor is warped. If no pulse you have other things going on.

When breaking, my break pedal begins to pulsate when stopping. Also, the steering wheel begins to shake when breaking.


Usually a sign one of the front brake rotors is out of round. It could also be something wrong with the abs but I doubt it.

Did you replace the front and rear or just the front? Rear brakes can make the pulsation as well. Also if your ABS system is activating that could be described as a "pulsation". The ABS problem is usually caused by a bad wheel speed sensor or ABS module failure. ABS modules can be rebuilt (see ebay BBA-Reman) Wheel speed sensors are available at most auto parts stores. Some Saabs require the replacement of the whole hub assembly.

if it is in the brake peadle only you need to replace the rear drums/ rotors if you feel it in the streeing wheel it will be the front rotors

Traction control light flashes and abs activates, slows car down, pulsates car


I would take it to someone who has a code reader, or to a dealer, I would not trust the vehicle for very far or very fast if you did have to drive it to where it will be worked on. It may even be safer to have it put on a rollback wrecker and taken to the shop.I don't like to make suggestions of driving a vehicle when it pertains to the braking system. I hope I have been of some assistance.

Abs and the difereantial problems


people have been driving without abs for decades. if your older then 35 you were probably trained on a vehicle without abs. to get to normal you must find the wire and reattatch it. this should be a 2 wire connection going to a sensor(or magnet) which reads a wheel that through magnetic pulse, makes and breaks contact. make sure there is the sensor in the axle at the inlet for the drive shaft. should be on top. happy holidays.

need more info if rotors are smooth then possibly a problem in the abs system... is the abs light on...... they do have a failure where you would feel a pulsating feeling let me know

Does the abs light come on when pulsating? if yes then maybe you have a bad ABS sensor or it just the sensors cleaned . Where they turned under spec .which means more likely to heat up and warp or crack
