Do you have to take water pump to put in thermestat

You probably have the 3VZ iron block V6. The thermostat is in the water inlet elbow bolted to the water pump, so you have to expose that.

I replced my radiator & thermostat and my car is still overheating. Toyota Camry 1992, help

water pump may be bad. or you may have a head gasket leaking. If it perks over out of the radiator before it really hot thats a sign you have a head gasket issue. A shop can tell you for sure with a smog machine. If you have gas in your water the smog machine will read it.

92 Toyota Camry, antifreeze leaking no leak found

have you had the undercarriage inspected for white stains from coolant, rust stains if your system is corroded? How many miles? has the water pump ever been replaced, that would be my guess, water pumps leak while the eng is running and the hot engine evaporates the coolant, so in many cases none on the ground. Also have the system pressure tested by a shop and put on a rack to check for signs of leaking under the car.

Location of the thermostat and water pump

Doesn,t sound like your thermostat or waterpump. Sounds more like your headgasket has gone.

Timing belt

Thank you for allowing me to provide assistance.

My advice would be to have the timing belt checked for proper installation. The way that you are describing you condition seems like a timing belt that is "off" a couple of teeth, or the distributor is not adjusted to the proper position. I hope that this helps eliminate your condition.
