My 2004 mitsubishi galant gts wont start. I think it might be an immobilizer problem? Acc and On all work, but when i turn the key to start every thing on the dashboard shuts off and there is no sound...

Sounds like a near dead battery, Try some heavy draw like the lights on and blowing the horn. Together these should not work if the battery is weak. Have a look at your battery terminals as well. If these are full of copper deposits and other built-up. you could have a bad connection which would basically give the same indications. Remove the battery terminals and hold them in boiling water for a while, this will remove any deposits. Pour hot water over the battery posts to clean those and make sure that the terminals and posts are clean down to bare metal. If that does not work, try a jump start (not really recommended due to on board computers etc.) or have the battery professionally checked.

How do Ireplace the alternator belt on a 1994 mitsubishi galant?

First take off the negative battery cable or blow the alternator fuse, facing the back of the car reach UNDER the alternator and loosen the bolt on the bottom right side, now loosen the bolt on the adjuster block on top, you can now turn the adjuster bolt and move the alternator to change the belt. If you need to change the steering pump belt on the front of the motor, you need to loosen the nut on the back side of the idler pulley it holds the adjuster pulley in place . Then you can use the adjuster bolt to move the pulley to adjust the belt. Do not forget to tighten the pulley nut when finished.

Door locks not operation correctly

hi

there is a motor placed inside the doors for the operation of the central lockin system. when you open the door by key this motos is activated and all door locks are released. your problem may because of this motor is failed.

cause of the failure
1.the wire going to the motor may be chopped off.
2.the junction box connecting the wires may be damaged.
3.fuse may be blown out.
4.motor itsef damaged.

so please check weather power is coming to the motor using multi meter. if the power is not coming to it then the problem is with the wires. if the power is coming to it then problem is with the motor.

please vote me if my answer was useful to you.

I need to find a timing belt diagram for a 1994 mitsubishi galant

Your car will have the 2.4L SOHC engine in it (AKA 4G64). This manual will show you how to replace the timing belt (and more). Timing belt procedures start on page 33.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/4570538/Mitsubishi-4G63-4G64-Engine

(P.S. this manual also includes the 4G63 engine, you can identify your engine by looking at the procedures for the Single OverHead Cam[or SOHC])
