My 2004 santa fe has 65k miles on it. Should it need ALL new breaks and the timing chain replaced as a garage claims? Also, replacing the timing chain costs $2800 according to the garage, and the breaks...

I would shop around $2800 sounds way too high!!! $1700 for breaks $425 per wheel you can do way better than that!!! If you have rear drums they last at least 2X front disc, call around you should't pay more than $1000 for 4 wheel disc. You are due for timing belt, you have time to shop around for better price.
Good Luck!

My ford puma 1700 will not start.plenty of correct fuel. good battery.try to start it sometimes after continuous trying it will start.then other times keep trying to start wont start. leave it for 24hrs...

It sounds like a fuel problem the only way you can be sure of whats going on is to get a diagnostic check done usually cost about £25.I had a ford escort that did this and it turned out to be a fuel sensor.

Ford Puma Cuts out...

There are 2 things that can go wrong one cheap and the other around $100-200. The first problem could be the fuel filter if it is getting plugged up it wont allow the fuel to flow through to your engine sufficiently, but at faster speed it will still allow the fuel to flow enough. The other problem could be the fuel pump, this is the more expenive route. This will have the same effect on a car as the fuel filter. If I were you I would try replacing the fuel filter first to see if that made a change, this should only cost you around $5-20.
