Question about 2000 Buick Century
MY OIL IS BROWN IT SEEMS LIKE WATER HAS GOT IN IT SOME HOW I NEED TO CHANGE IT
On the bottom of your engine there is the bottom of the oil pan. there will be a bolt on it usually in the corner. you will need to pull the bolt and the oil will drain out of the car. you will also need to replace the filter. if you stand in front of your car with the hood up and look straight down you should see a canister on the side of the engine. it will have finger grips on the end of it. it may be white/orange/black ect depending on what brand the filter is. you will need to pull that and replace it as well. it turn counter clockwise to come out . when you install the new filter it is highly recemmended that you take a little bit of oil and run it on the gasket of the new filter. after it is installed and the drain plug is re-installed you can now put new oil in the car. you can do this by looking on the top of your engine and there will be a cap with yellow letters on it. you will need to turn it counter clock wise as well to take the cap off. than fill the engine back up with oil. on your model it should take between 5 to 6 quarts of oil. you can ask you auto store retailer to be sure how much you need to get. and what type. EX: 10w-30,10w40,ect.....
