I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Country that started acting as if it were going to stall (almost like it was running out of gas) about a week ago. I changed the fuel filter and added a bottle of gumout fuel...

It appears that the fuel pump might be going bad. To eliminate this possible cause, have the pump output pressure tested by a mechanic. It is located in the tank. The pressure test can be done in about 1/2 hour at a good garage. The fuel pump replacement, a four hour job, costs ~$500.00.

I put a 1998 4.0 motor in a 1996 jeep grand cherokee when we go to start it up the motor acts like you have your foot to the floor i can unplug the map sensor then i can throttle but it doesn't want to run...

I'm afraid there's no black and white once you start mixing parts with these computer controlled vehicles. It sounds like your computer may be misreading the newer sensor. I'd try putting a MAP sensor from a '96 and see if it helps.

96 jeep cherokee, replace cps and the engine control fuse

The guy at the garage today, said he went out and put a fuse in it and it started right up. Thats all he did for now. I going to have a closer look on the weekend. But, as before when I went 1/2 mile it would burn the fuse again. We will have to see if it does again, I espect it will. Any idea?

Vehicle stalled and failed to restart.

Check between b&c terminals at the connector coming from the sensor (should be marked on the connector) there should be no continuity there.
