On My 1998 Toyota Camy when the car is on my brakes lights wont go off but if the car its off the brake light work fine why??

These Toyotas had daytime running lights. The headlights and the taillights turn on when you start the car. If you press the brake pedal, the rear lights (and the brake light in the rear window) should come on brighter.

I have never heard of the brake light staying on (The brighter filament in the two-filament bulb). Hope this helps.

Brake light is working but not the tail light?

There are three fuses involved.
There is a 25 amp fuse before the brake switch located in the fuse box under the hood. Then there are two 15amp fuses after the brake switch in the box inside the cabin. One is for the lower brake lights and the other is for the high mount light and the trailer connector.
You would need to know if the 15amp fuse for the lower lights has power when the brake pedal switch is applied.

Brake lights will not turn off

Replace or adjust the brake light switch. The switch is under the dash just to the rear of the arm that the brake pedal is attached to and actuated by the brake pedal arm as it moves.

Rear blinker/brake light failure

It is a dual element bulb. Sounds like one of the elements is blown. Try replacing the bulb.

Tail lights stay on

make sure it is not the brake lights on instead. press the brake pedal and have someone see if the lights gets brighter. if not so you need a new brake light switch. if they do get brighter the brake light switch is fine and the headlight switch is bad instead

All of the bulbs for the brake lights are new all

Brake light switch, think it should be under the brake pedal. when brakes are applied, the pedal compresses the switch, which makes the brake lights come on.

Taillights won't go off.

Is it the tail lights or the brake lights? If its the brake lights then there is a switch down by your brake peddle that the lever pushes up against to keep your brakes off when there not being applied. If that switch goes out or is out of adjustment the the brake lights will stay on. Hope that helps

My brake lights stay on when the car is on AND off. I press the brake and they don't get any brighter, if that matters. It kills my battery quickly and repeatedly.(95 mustang V6)

Check under the dash by where the brake pedal is and disconnect the plug that connects to the switch button. If your lights go off then that is your problem. You need to replace that switch, but also check where that switch makes contact with brake pedal, some vehicles have piece of rubber in there and it can fall apart.
