Cold winters? 5W-30, moderate winters 10W-30W, any brand is ok, they all meet the manufacturers specs these days. about 4.0 quarts nd then recheck level hot. as far as cost about $2-3 per quart, if U want to use synthetic ( much extended engine life) then $5 per quart.

What kind of auto trans fluid

The 2003 Sunfire has been updated from Dexron II or III to Dexron VI per a Technical Service Bulletin from GM.

Automatic Transmission, 4T40-E Initial Fill..........6.5 liters
Automatic Transmission, Total Fill 4 speed 4T40-E..........12.2 liters

Good luck and hope this helps, if you do use Synthetic transmission oil, make sure it's a Low Viscosity Synthetic Transmission oil. High viscosity transmission oil will cause the gear shifting to stick and will cause shifting issues.

Thank you for using fixya and good luck.

Where is transmission solenoid located on 1995 vw jetta !!!!

Inside the transmission case above the pan. You should probably let a transmission mechanic handle this one.

I have a 95 jetta and the check engine comes on sometimes.

i had this sort of problem on my previous car , it turned out to be a ideller control valve ( electrical problem ) they can be replaced or cleaned out dont ask where it is coz it cost me £170 for a new 1 fitted but it is a reacurring problem so it would be best to find out how to do it and where it is so you can do it again and again without costing you loads.

95 Jetta GLX VR6 Water Issue

This is a COMMON sign of a Blown Head Gasket. You will not have an oil leak from it on this Car and it will Overheat VERY Rapidly. You could also be correct on the Water Pump Problem, But, It is hard to change out especially since you just put it back together.
