Question about 1994 Lincoln Town Car

1 Answer

Electrical Problem Trying to start the car, 94 towncar, results in a total loss of electrical power. Lights turn off, radio and buzzers shut off. After playing with it for a few minutes, it will come back on and start. This happened three times in 3 days. This morning I didn't have time to play with it, and had to walk to work.

I went out in the snow yesterday, and cleaned the battery terminals (they weren't that bad, little dirty, no corrosion). Couldn't get under the car but, I went Christmas shopping anyway, just to check it out. Made 4-5 stops and started the car 7-8 times. Never had a problem.

Clean & inspect battery connections, (both ends), charge battery fully & have it load tested. I suspect bad connection, bad battery, and at worst, worn out starter.

Well lets hope you got it. Sometimes it's a easy as loosening connections, twisting them back & forth, and re-tightening. With electrical, ya never know for sure until you try it. Good Luck

'02 Venture 3.8L electrical sys failure, no lights, buzzers,

check the battery connections, from there follow the ground wire to the engine block and make sure there is a good clean connection, also follow the positive wire to the starter relay. there you will find more wires bolted with the main cable. these wires send power to the fuse box. you may need to use a volt meter to determine if any wires may have faults in them.
