Question about 2004 Mazda 6

1 Answer

'04 Mazda6 handbrake

My son's '04 Mazda6 handbrake is sticky. He took it in to an independent garage and they could find nothing wrong. Lubed etc. and it worked OK for a few days but probs again. Hand lever is real lose for first couple of inches, then grabs normally. If he pulls normal on lever, emergncy brakes work normal, but won't release completely.

This is almost always (95%) caused by rust inside the hand brake cable going to the back wheels, replace the cables and the issue will go away.

ABS light on, STOP warning on, Handbrake light on, bleeping sound

Get a second opinion as you are dealing with brakes here.
Things to get check/get checked
Brake fluid does it need topped up.
Fuses covering these systems are there any blown.
Brake pads are they worn or are the sensors damaged.
ABS sensors are they damaged.
Handbrake cable to front wheels worn or stretched.
Handbrake sensor faulty.
Again if it's brakes get these things checked out sounds like a faulty abs sensor but best get the rest checked to be on the safe side.
Hope this helps

Cranks too long before it starts

Since you have a worse situation whilst hot /warm engine difficult to start, why do not check the engine valves if are too tight and cause low compression. do check compression when engine hot.Check also if your fuel pump is working okay when hot.

if the electric draw with lights etc plus the super stereo **** these blokes use all tallies up to more than the alternator output, you will have exactly the senario you have discribed. but an auto-electrcian can measure these in quick time and tell you for sure

Mazda 6 2001, IBS and handbrake warning lights keeps coming on

Check brake fluid level.  If fluid level is low, it can cause lights to flicker on and off while driving.

'04 Nissan Altima can't be trained to open garage door.

Hello , you are probably not doing anything wrong. Some garage door openers will not accept some codes. My Toyota Tundra 2005 worked on my garage door , but my 2004 F250 would not. Quinn , Arizona

Plugs for Camry 2000 4 cyl.

The plugs that are supposed to be in a 2000 4 cyl Camry are :
PK20TR11 Toyota P/N 90919-01194

The K16TR11 plugs fit a variety of models.
They are found in the following units:

95-04 Tacoma V-6
00/04 Tundra V-6

There is no question that your dealer installed the wrong plugs.

I would really appreciate a FixYa rating for the information that I have provided you. Thnaks in advance.
