Car starts hard and runs rough in cold weather, undrivable

Around 40 degrees or colder weather the car hardly starts, and it runs real rough if it does start. It runs real good in warmer weather, Had the head redone put new spark plugs, wires, timing belt and had it timed and no difference. It has 150,000 miles the battery is also new.

Hey guys it is running now took me awhile to get back to work on it. I thought I had the correct spark plugs in it needless to say I didn't, I put new plugs in and messed with the idle control motor and so far so good it starts up even when it is below 10 degrees.

    Thanks guys

Another thought: Pull the distributor cap off, and inspect the coil for burn marks or cracks. Replace the coil if you see any burns or cracks. Let me know if this helps.

There is a much richer fuel mixture during a cold start, the colder the engine the richer the fuel mixture
retarded ignition timing causing the fuel to burn for a longer period of time makes the engine heat up faster
anything that doesn't allow the mixture to be properly metered, like vacuum leaks, bad temperature sensors, or O2 sensors, MAF or MAP sensors, bad EGR valves or PCV valves hoses or tubes,
and or
anything that will cause the fuel mixture not to burn properly, like worn spark plugs, or any other ignition part, wires, cap, rotor, timing, compression, will cause poor start or no start conditions that are worse in lower temperatures,
also low voltage, week battery, slow cranking of the engine can also cause hard to start conditions

My truck is very hard to start when it is a cold motor. Once I start it it cranks right back up but I almost run the battery down trying to start it in the morning.

When was the last time you changed or cleaned the spark plugs. I had an older car and just would not fire up when it was real cold outside. We ran down two batteries so at zero degrees Fahrenheit I changed the spark plugs. No problem after that
also is your carburetor set up so the choke is working properly?

Won't run when cold weather

run fault codes and look for MAF/MAP/VAF sensors and ambient temp sensor as faulty.

Ferrari 360 will not rev above about 1500 rpm. Cold weather around 40 degrees F, but even after the car idled for 10 minutes warmed up to 200 degrees F engine temp the car would not rev above 1500. When...

without my greasy hands under the bonnet its hard to say but dont be scared of it just because it say ferrari on the front its still made by fiat and uses a lot of common parts ,now what i would do here is to test the mass air flow sensor with my automotive tester to see what happening and if the voltage is varying as it reved up before i start to even think about changing anything ,if this sensor is faulty then its not measuring the right air flow which will not allow petrol to be injected through the injectors hence its not picking up and i think it may be the cold weather thats affecting the sensor in some way ,remember warming up the engine will not make the sensor warm as it still has cold air being drawn in through the inlet pipe

1990 dodge colt, does not want to start in the cold

If it starts with a shot of WD-40 then fuel delivery is obviously a problem when cold. If intake air temperature sensor ( for one) is telling it that its still real warm out, then it won't give it enough fuel to start on a cold day, which requires more fuel.
