The light indicates an emissions problem, since u just had it serviced, u should definitely return to the dealer, call them immediately so they are aware of the problem (if the service dept. is closed for the weekend, I would still call and let someone know of the problem). U will probably have to contact them again monday, but don't let this go, they need to fix it.

Hi i have just bought a 2004 (54) freelander td4 HSE with 144.000 miles, the engine will not rev over 2000 rpm and there is a strong smell of unbunt fuel fron the exhaust, there is no warning lights on the...

I'm thinking that the catalytic converter is clogged. If you are mechanically inclined, disconnect the exhaust in front of the catalytic converter and see if it runs better(it will be loud). If you're not handy with a wrench, take it to your mechanic or a friend who is good with cars. Also check the fuel filter to see if it's clogged.

Red warning sign of engine on cluster stays on (freelander 2.0 TDi 2000 model)

That light is the engine trouble light. You will have to take it to the dealer so they can retrieve the problem code that it has stored in the computer. most likely a faulty sensor or somtimes as simple as a loose gas cap, I know yer laughin but i have seen it.LOL

how did the cam shaft failed? is there a spark on the plugs for the cylinders than are not firing? did you have a timing belt failour? if so you may have damage valves or pistons, do a compression test on the engine to know condition of cylinders

2004 Land Rover Freelander - Engine Shakes

Hydraulic lifters? I have been racking my brains for this one. Lifters will sometimes pump up when cold and then lose pressure as they get worked. Would explain why your camshaft died. Suggest you look at old camshaft, see the cams that were worn and replace those lifters. Only thing I can come up with!

Service engine son ligths is on, the engine lost a

It could have been as simple as some water grounding your coil for a while (car wash? big rain storm?). If the car is running great now, you probably just have a code stored in the ECU. Autozone and O'reilly usually have a code reader which can be used to delete the code. They won't delete it for you, but they will hand you the device and let you press the button... haha. Either way, you need to get it to someone with a code reader to have the code removed. Any auto dealer can do it for a fee. I'm sure Land Rover will charge you a lot, but you can really go to any dealer. The diagnostic port is the same for all cars after 1996. Btw, the Freelander is based on the Ford Escape... so your local Ford dealer should know how to work on it as well.

Good luck.

Freelander 2005 Coolant warning light stays on

You can disconnect your vehicle's negative battery cable and leave it disconnected for about 20 minutes, and it should reset the code causing the coolant light to come on. If you disconnect the battery cable you will also have to reset your clock, any pre-programmed radio stations, ect. in the vehicle as well.

I hope this helps you, and I wish you luck on your repair.
