My thermo fans are not kicking in on my 2002 Holden Astra Sedan when my vehicle heats up. All the fuses tested fine. What could the problem be?

Its probably a sensor or fuse maybe, i'm just guessing, or it could be a in line fuse, thats where two wires come together, and it is connected with a red or yellow connector some times they are blue, they are covered in plastic, metal in middle

I have a 2002 holden Astra and want to know which Fuse is for the window washer as it stopped working, the manual does not show it, only the wipers and they still work

I suggest you check in the vehicle handbook to make sure but I think the washer fuse is a shared fuse and if everything else works the problem is unlikely to be a fuse.

I suggest you check the washer pump first as these fail fairly regularly, either because water has leaked into the motor or because of corroded connections.

If the pump works ok with an independent supply and ground, move on to checking the supply and ground separately with a test lamp. If this proves ok suspect the pump of having an intermittent fault. If there is no supply the fault might be a faulty switch but it would be wise at that point to check the circuit with a wiring diagram before proceeding further.

Older model Commodore. Why don't thermo fans kick in?

You're talking about the electric fan on the radiator?

An electric fan only kicks in when there is excess heat in the engine cooling system.

Other than that, there's an electronic switch/sensor on or near the fan. If that fails the fan can't kick in when the engine reaches a certain temperature

Hi I have a 2002 2.2 holden Astra auto , is it normal for my engine fan to stay on when engine is switched off . Thanks

The secondary fan always runs until engine temp is lowered, (regardless if engine is running) to prevent oil breakdown & over heating damage.

My 99 cav 2.2 has been overheating ,flushed the system, new water pump, new temp sensor, new relay and switch. Fan works for a while few days them will not kick on does not get power to the fan. Is it the pcm...

Check the relay for your thermo fan, should be in the main fuse box under the bonnet. Often when they heat up the fault presents itself. Other than that your thermo fan might be faulty.

The thermo fan will not kick in when the eng gets hot i have checked the relays and fuses checked the plug under the power steering reservoir also ran power directly to fan to ensure that it worked and it...

you need the magic relay ,now this relay controls everything by its multifunction action. Now if you cant find this multipurpose magic relay Thats only fitted to american built vehicles then i suggest change the temperature switch that controls the fan ,it should be in the radiator near the top ,but some vehicles its lower down on the side ,Newer behicles use a sensor in the cylinder head ,but a 96 will be in the radiator .That is unles of course you find the multipurpose magical relay ???
