Unhook your battery, then open drivers door, put key in ignition then turn the key on, with the key on hook the battery back up this should over ride the alarm system,

Why is my '97 Mitsubishi Eclipse alarm going off?

Take off the inside door panel and see if there is something by the lock that activates/deactivates the alarm when you turn the key. Compare the drivers side(L), to the passenger side(R), that works. All mechanical things like to break down over time.

I have a golf 5 2005 model. I cannot lock or unlock the drivers door with the remote and the indicator light on mirro of the same door doesnt show. The problem happens sometimes on the front left door....

Check the wires in between the door and the chasis. Remove the rubber insulation and check for broken wires. This is a common problem. I also have a Golf 5 and recently same thing happened on my deriver side. Onces I resoldered the wires and insolate them seperatly so that no open wires are visible, I reconnect and the alarm + door worked with the remote.

98 golf anti theft problem

Put the key in the driver door lock (or the trunk lock if you don't trust the driver's door- quite often on a vehicle of this age the wires break in the door and it won't electrically de-activate the alarm due to the broken wires)
Disconnect the battery.
Turn the key to the unlock position (toward the front of the car if using the driver or passenger doors) and release it- it will go back to centered, but will retain slack in the forward direction
Then reconnect the battery. You may get one beep out of the alarm horn. If it beeps continually, turn the key to unlock again.
As long as the alarm is de-activated it will not prevent the car from starting. If you are still having a problem it is not alarm related.

Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help
