Hi Glen, If the problem persists after replacing the coil I believe you must look at the cables for an internal broken circuit. Also check the ground connection. If all else fails check the computer. Regards John

SOURCE: 2000 Buick LeSabre Will not start Replaced cam

Multiple engine misfire is related to the coils and the ignition control module. I have a 2002 with the 3.8 engine. It has three coils. I just went through this problem. I bought one coil and tried it in each position with no improvement. It was the ignition control module. Mine is located under the three coils. A relatively easy item to replace. Cost about $140.

SOURCE: My 1993 buick lesabre limited is losing power

I think the compression pressure from each cylinder needs to be checked. There are built-up carbon residues around valve seats causing poor compression hence losing power under load. If this is a case then only a valve job could improve the situation. Depending on the mileage, worn out piston rings could contribute to the reduction of compression ratio, but it can be determined at the time of the valve job. Good luck.

My 1999 buick lesabre will not start. I have gasoline and the battery is good.

Hmm, do you have spark? fuel pressure must be between 30 - 40 psi test the ignition coils by connecting an ohmmeter between the coil towers ie 1and 4 with the key in the OFF position do the same with the others as well there are 3 coils all together...you should have readings between 5 an7 thousand ohms if so the secondary side of the coils are good, if there is no spark at all try an ignition module. this is under the 3 coils they sit on the ign module..You can also test and or replace the spark plug wires, if a wire is 10 inches long it should read 10,000 ohms or less.. No more than 1000 ohms per inch is the spec.. hope this helps good luck

2000 lesabre wont start. Battery is good. Engine cranks but won't turn over.

You need to find out whether it is getting gas and spark. To check the gas, depress the button in the middle of the Schraeder valve on the fuel rail. Some gas should spurt out under pressure. Still, the injectors might not be getting a signal, but I think the check engine light should tell you if that isn't working. To check the spark, disconnect one spark plug wire and provide a gap to ground where you can see it in a dimply lit place. You should be able to see a spark. Test those two things. The coils and igniter seem to go bad together.
