Question about 1992 Audi 100

1 Answer

Car will not start.

Hello!

I have an Audi 100 2.6 v6. -93mod? with about 240k km on it.
One day i was driving i parked the car for a sec and turned off the engine. when i wanted to start it again 20 secs later it just made a hi frequent noice and wouldn't start. wouldn't even turn the engine. The starter relay clicked but the started engine didn't do more than making a little click too.

So i guess my problem is related eighter to a bad electrical connection to the starter, which i checked all the way from the battery to the starter and found no problem. I want to take out the starter engine but how do i do that? i cant even reach it.. it looks like i have to remove the whole engine first..:\ please help :)

Turn the key to on position, then press brake shift out of park and cycle through reverse ,neutral, drive, etc....then place it back in park.try to tap it as far forward to make sure it is in park so that the sensor is reading it is in park.try to start vehicle.....if it starts,,,then it is your neutral safety switch. I have seen this in the past.

2010 audi q7 shows on the board service 700km 30 days. what does it mean? what service is it?

It's the normal car service reminder due. Whichever will be reached first: 700 km, or 30 days. In other words after 700 km, or if you don't drive the car 700 km within 30 days, you should carry out the car maintenace: engine oil & oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, pollen & dust cabin filter, ...
Then you will need to reset the "Service due" message on the dashboard. For Audi Q7 made year 2010, the Service Interval Indicator can only be reset with the VAS 5051 or similar diagnostic tool connected to the data link connector of the car.

Change the Engine speed sensor. This can sometime cause your dash to do all sorts of weird things when they fail, such as setting the low fuel warning off as well. strange but true ! good luck

92 audi 100 quattro wagon, problem staying started?

Could be the fuel pump. If there is pressure in the fuel tank, such as on a hot day it is just enough to get the engine to sputter a few times but not keep running. Might also be the cam position sensor (left rear side of V-6 engine ). A scan reader tool would indicate that.

Audi 1996 A6 wagon - battery drains if car not used for 4-5 days

unhook the battery completely and see if it will start after a couple of days. if it does you probably have a wire stripped and grounded out. all you need to do is install a power disconect key in the car, and you wont have any more problems.

Accent 2001 won't start after driving for only 100km

you may want to see if your catalitic converter is clogged up. I had a car that had that problem, when you drove too much it would die and wouldn't start for a long time after that. I had the converter replaced and now it drives just fine. May not be the same problem but it could be. and most muffler shops will check for a small fee if not for free.
