02 grand cherokee intermittent blinkers

I saw a post on here already about this problem. I took it to a mechanic, and they said that it was really expensive to fix...couldn't give me a quote, but said was expensive. Is he lying to me?

My blinkers work sometimes, and sometimes they just don't. The mechanic didn't give me a fix time, but he said that he would have to remove my entire steering wheel to get to it, and it isnt an easy job

I belive he called it a multifunction switch...sorry, all this is new to me

Sounds like hes saying that the indicator lever/wand needs replacing. To change the lever/wand/multi function switch the steering wheel does need to come off however the job itself is simple and if it takes more than an hour you are being ripped off.In Aust and im sure the usa also there is a book with the time to remove/repair in black and white and mechanic must justify why it will take longer. You should ring parts outlet for price of part and see if 1 hour labour and parts price are close to your mechanics quote or wether hes taking you for a ride.Unusual that an indicator switch should fail after only 6 years however good luck

I have a 2004 grand cherokee jeep limited edition the back window was broken into, and maybe they tried to do somehting to shut down the alarm system, (we dont know)..battery had to be...

Continued blowing of fuses will normally indicate one of two things first is that a component/device is faulty ando second is that there is a short or intermittent short in the circuit(s) while I am not familiar with jeeps I find it unlikely however that both the blinkers and ac fan have the same circuit/fuse but it is possible they are shorting each other somewhere in or under the main console

Indicator lights

well there could be a couple of things happening here your flasher could be on it's way out, which is on your fuse panel, check your owners manual, or if there is a cover, for which one this is you could have a bad ground, which these our known for or a broken wire or loose wire the best way for someone to try to find this, is when this happens, take a test light or volt meter to back probe the wires to try to find the break in the wire, then trace your ground and make sure it has good contract, if rusted clean up check for cracks, bare spots in any of these wires, if found fix, by splicing wire, using a crimp wire connector, with a heat shrink tubing to protect it, these can be found at an auto parts store also your turn signal switch could be at fault here

You will need another engine. When there isn't enough oil in th system, things begin to heat up. then eventually the bearings lock up. sounds like that is what yours did. the engine that goes in has to be the same as the one that comes out. You already know it's a 4.7 . the engine code is in the vehicle identification number. Have this number handy, because it will give all the particulars or the vehicle

My 2000 Jeep grand Cherokee will sometimes will vibrate and grab; like going over a grate before a stop sign. My mechanic has taken it for drives and it doesn't do it. He thought maybe the crank shaft?...

BTW: get a new mechanic. A crankshaft would NEVER cause intermittent symptoms like yours. Your mechanic is either incompetent, dishonest, or both.

My left sinal light won't work on my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. I don't know if it's a wiring problem or is it my switch? It's seems there are alot of Jeeps with the same problem.

check the fuse box located up the steering wheel and then read the map and it will show left blinker and the it should have replacement fuses and then take the fuse that is already in there for the left blinker and then put a replacement fuse in the place where you took the broken fuse out!!! thats the problem you seem to be having

Dome lights wont shut off stereo turns on but no sound

remove seats and pull carpet. now see which wires they melted with that torch. Tape them up so they aren't shorting out any more as best you can.

Sounds like blinker lights is always on/2001 grand am se

You can clean the switch without having to replace it. I had the same problem and for about $10 worth of cleaner, grease, and cotton swabs I fixed it. Check this website for very detail cleaning instructions and pictures. You have to register as a user to get the pictures.
