If you have the 3400 engine the resevoir is up top on the front of engine, which is rt side as engine is sideways. will be a black plastic cap.next to alternator. if you have the 3800 i think it is down at bottom have to rech down to get to it and use a long funnel

Its on the passenger side near the back of the engine, you have to reach down at a weird angle to get it and make sure the car has cooled off or you might burn yourself. I got a flexible funnel when i did mine it was the easiest way.

make sure you dont drop the cap to the reservoir, i did that and it took 45 min to get it out because it got caught up & we couldnt see it. lol

What could be wrong with the power sterring if it makes a loud noise. after checking poer sterring fluid

The most common problem with noisy power steering (whining noise) is that the power steering pump is defective. If you replace the pump make sure you flush the system with clean PS fluid or it can ruin the new pump.

Easiest way to add power stearing fluid to a 2001 chevy impala v6 ??

Locate the cap to the power steering fluid reservoir
bc25493.jpg Remove cap and fill reservoir with GM Power Steering Fluid (P/N 89021184) or any fluid a knowledgeable parts department says is compatible. It may not look like much but there are a few dozen steering fluids available out there and lots of systems aren't compatible with many of them (wrong fluid will disintegrate seals, pumps, etc...)
