You can buy them at higher end auto parts stores, from the internet, from tool dealers such as MAC, Snap-on and Cornwell.

Hi what i did was to lose all the plugs and clean the carbon deposit on it,and put it back, after i started the car the problem of misfiring is gone, but the check engine light is on.
i still use my initiative to off it without using any sacn tool'

1. I off the engine and remove the battery head, and refix it i on the ignation only to see the dash board light are on then i went to the front and remove the battery and spark it for about two to three times, then i off the ignation and put back the battery terminal and tied it, the check engine light is gone, and my car is ok now. it is a way of refreshing the memory of the brain box manually.

Heated & cooled seats staying on while car is off and keys are out. The radio also stays on, I noticed the driverside window controls are not working either. The nav maps also read an error

This sounds like a computer glitch. Cars are becoming more computerised and as well as Engine Control Modules, there are body controller computers as well.

This might fix it, and is probably worth a try. Disconnect your battery for a couple of hours. This should reset all the computers. If that doesn't work, you need a dealership who have the software to interrogate the vehicle electrics.

I have a 2008 Saturn Aura. Its throwing 2 codes, $7EA and $7E8. 2 mechanics in my home have never seen these codes.

Honestly, no idea acout Saturn Aura's error codes.
But, looks to me that those two mechanics you called are not really very efficient,
Guess you should look for a GOOD mechanical service and get your car's computer scanned by someone who really knows how to use a scanner,

Ecm will not communicate on the OBD11 connection to scan for codes

Hi Juanatijerin, Make sure that your vehicle has the sixteen pin connector and that it is OBD2 compliant. It could be fitted with the sixteen pin connector but compliant to OBD1. Check the ECU fuse. If that is okay check the power feed to the unit and the earth connections. Regards John

Car died, won't start. check everything, all seems to be working right, could the computer be bad?

you will have to have it scanned with an obd11 scanner. if the coputer is no good it sends the appropriate code.the days of mechanics are all but over,
you have to be a technician these days.good luck and have a happy holiday.

Hi,

My name is Ben and I'm your guru, i.e., mentor, an influential teacher or popular expert: a management guru. - origin from Sanskrit, 'weighty, grave', for today.
Information provided by you: how do i test my e c m in a 1996 camaro rs

Discussion
: Late model vehicles are highly computer controlled to reduce emissions, maximize fuel economy and improve consumer comfort. The various control systems in vehicles are interrelated and controlled by multiple computers that constantly monitor vehicle performance through a myriad of sensors located throughout the vehicle. Based on information received, the computers adjust the vehicle performance through a series of valves, switches and motors. You must use a scanner to unlock the information stored in your car's computer.
Your Camaro is OBD II compliant.

You don't indicate any diagnostic tests to date. A dealer or your local mechanic will charge $100-$200 to perform a diagnostic scan of your Powertrain Control Module (aka PCM for GM, ECM and computer). However, AutoZone will provide a thorough scan for FREE.

All the best,

Ben

Have a 2003 ba ford had computer board replaced cd player now coming up with the word code where do i find the code for that is it in the car mannual book...and how do i put the code in

Hi,

If it was a Ford factory installed stereo, the security code will be kept on a national database and can be obtained from your local Ford parts dept. As long as you prove to them you are the current owner of that registered vehicle, they will provide you with the code.

The procedure to input the code, will be written in your owners manual.

Abs ,hill descent andtraction control lights all staying on .is it anything to do with the snow

No, it is a warning to you that your breaks are wearing away and need replacement.

Note that after you replace them, you will have to go to a computerised mechanical workshop to reset the abs detection settings to the computer detection system (Dont worry, the mechanics there will know what to do).

Check engine light is on. No power, struggle to to obtain 50mph. Power brake and engine surges dramaticly @2500 rpm

Sounds like a fuel system problem, but it's nearly impossible to tell without a computer scan. Have a competent mechanic run a scan and check the vehicle's fuel pressure.

Air conditioner and heater not blowing

either the reostat or the computerised control box,try running a wire direct from the fuse for the heater to the blower motor ,one motor each side of the vehicle ,Their is a computerised control box up under the dash and its nigh on impossible to reach ,well the feed for both motors loops through this box and thats all they do nothing else so run a wire from each heater fuse on either side of the footwell to the blower motoer and it will all work with no problems at all
